No it's better to keep the groups more local and smaller. The Nor Cal group already big with close to 240 members. Meet and Greets are centered around SAC area. Similarly the SF Bay group's meet and greet area centered around Santa Clara and San Mateo areas. Maybe you (Vicky and Roni) could be in charge of this group and build it up since you both live in the local area.

Bea, since this group is inactive and the creator is not monitoring it. I think it would be better to invite them to the Nor. Cal. group. I did a search for Stockton there are 38 members.

Of course, feel free to make up your own message or revise the one below. I normally save it in a MS WORD file. Then copy and paste to the individual profiles. Regards, Bee

Moms of 209 Manteca, Tracy, Lathrop, Escalon Sutter Creek and other...
If you are new, you may also consider joining some of the following groups:
1. New Moms Stop Here group. You should think of this group as your orientation station. We do have a number of experienced members who can answer questions and point you in the right direction.
2. Depper’s… in but not yet . is a group for those just waiting for bootcamp to start (Delayed Entry Program – a depper)
3. Boot Camp Moms group. Is he/she already in bootcamp? Or just about to go in? This is the group.
4. OCS Graduate Moms or the NROTC Moms. For those going to be an officer or going to NROTC?

Look forward to hearing from you, Roni and Vicky (from the Moms of 209 Area Code)

Vicky and Roni, it looks like the group has been inactive for sometime. I know that there are more members in the 209 area code who are probably not aware that the group exist. I recalled searching out for member in the Santa Clara/San Mateo counties. That is how I found a lot of our members. I haven't had time to send out messages to people who live within the 209 area code for awhile - got involved with the New Moms Stop Here group back in Dec. I think it would be great if you can search and post a welcoming message to these folks, I can give you a brief run down on how & what to send out. In fact, I could revise the "standard" welcoming messages that Abby and I post on the pages for all new members, we can incorporatet the link to the 209 group. I can't believe that there are only 16 (excluding myself) in the entire area. My next post is an example.

Good morning, everyone. I am BunkerBee from the SF Bay Area Navy Families and Northern California Navy Moms group. I am working on a project and need a couple of volunteers from this area.
The Navy Recruiting District San Francisco extends from Eureka to Porterville and from Pacific Coast to Nevada. Some of the recruiters do not even know about Navy For Moms. Finding CA members and sending them a message is hit and miss and extremely time consuming (I know first hand because I have been doing this for 8-10 months). Quiltlady and I thought all the recruiters in the San Francisco district should have a little starter kit packet with information on about N4M, how to use the site, about our CA groups and a few contact people for each CA group. When I am done, I will post the starter kit here in a PDF file as a reference. Quiltlady is arranging a meeting for us to meet with the Commander of this district to present to him our packet. Future recruits and families will have a document (or PDF file), like a handbook to use about our site.
I have contact people for the SFBay and NorCal groups. Only your screen name (user name) will be supplied, no phone number. The contact person should be someone who can send the new member a welcoming message on his or her page, answer a few questions and direct her/him to the appropriate groups to join.
Anyone?

Hi everyone! We gotta get more of us moms here! I know a couple with Navy kids so I'll invite them.

My son, Javi, is awaiting a job right now. It's only been a month but already I'm wondering how long before a job, that interests him, is available. I also have my niece, Jackie, who is leaving for bootcamp at the end of September.

I hope to hear from you all soon!

Good Morning Everyone,
My son Sam has been in BC for two weeks with a PIR date of 12/4/09. I got to talk to him last week and he sounded great. He was still in processing but expecting to move into his barracks the next day. He was loving it so far.

I am in Merced. Anyone else this far South?

Terri
