Welcome to the club!  This board has been very quiet. Feel free to visit the Beyond BC board if you haven’t already!  Lots of people on that one with all different levels of experience-even veterans on there.

I’ll try to help with anything I can. One issue that just came up for me was there was a problem with my son’s bank account. He had done power of attorney paperwork but forgot to send it to me so I can’t handle the issue. He will have to wait until a port call or he returns to handle it.

Hi Shanny!

I've been searching for an active group! First timer here; my daughter is an ABH, deploying very soon. Need all the information I can get my hands on.

My son is an ABH1 and has been in for 16 years.  Most likely if your sailor is an AB they will go to a carrier after Pensacola. Sea duty for AB is 5 years before rotating to shore duty.  My son has been on two carriers ( East and West coast) and is finishing up his second shore duty. Once they reach the carrier the will probably be on the flight deck or hangar bay where they will go through a series of “quals” (qualifications). Average 7 month deployments.  Any other guestions feel free to contact me.

I'm also new here.  My son arrived in Pensacola yesterday for ABF "A" school.  Anyone else?

My son started bootcamp on Tuesday the 5th. He goes to ABF school in Pensacola after bootcamp. Until he goes there he will not know where he is going from there

To know about how boot camp is going you can google/YouTube experience at boot camp. It is very informative. We don't know how bootcamp is going since our kids just started.
