Hasany one heard specifics from son's PIR 3/20, Div 818? I haven't heard anything lately. I mailed more letter- writing stuff that Calin asked for, and his small Bible ( that he requested... YEAH !!!) ) maybe he had to wait for materials
to arrive before he wrote more?I know he wrote to a friend that a school in Coronado does not start until May. What will he do, where, until then?

Hey all, just heard from my boy about ATT school dates for GM. He has been on hold since SCC graduation on 2/11. He was told today that he is #459. That means there are 458 sailors ahead of him. ATT should start for him in 28-35 days. That will be a hold of 7-8 weeks total. THAT sucks! But.... he now has a target date and has something to work for, so his spirits have picked up a little. I will post more when I get it. Peace, Bill

HI Joan, welcome aboard! Laptop, mmmmm, yes and no. The library has wireless service for free but it is VERY slow as a lot of sailors use it. Our son got a wireless card for about $60.00 a month but it is not as fast as dsl and they all have download limits. Cell phones work ok for the most part but there are a lot of dropped calls, still it is their life line and they would all go crazy with out them. If you have ANY ? please feel free to poke me! Bill

Greetings all, Will, thank you for posting here. It is of great help. I do have a question about the length / time line of the holds. My son PIR on 01/09/09 and has been in 4 different ships and has moved 3 times and is currently on hold for ATT. He graduated SCC on 02/11/09. ANY idea when ATT will start and a possible date for A school. All the waiting is beginning to take its toll on him. Thanks and Godspeed to our sailors. Bill
