Hi everyone. My husband and I just moved back after 9 years! We're super happy to be home. Our son is in G.C. and will be graduating this Friday (May 4th) from Power school. We couldn't be more proud of his choice to join. Looking forward to getting to know the other CO moms out there!! #GONAVY

FLY-- Hope you get the call soon!! If you can get your tickets tonight that will help for tomorrow and things will go smoother.  Enjoy your precious time with your sailor!! Oh and plan to go the the Airport in the middle of the night and get a gate pass if he's flying out on Saturday.

Great! Thank you- sorry left work yesterday and waited for the call but no news. Just landed in Chicago !!

I was going to say... go straight on Buckley Rd, go under the train tracks, Make a U turn at the light and when you come back under the tracks you can make a Left at the Light and you will avoid most all of the traffic waiting to turn Right to get on base and park at the parking structure.

If you do drive to base and if you are talking PIR at Great Lakes you can always pay a buck or two and park in the train commuter lot and then walk onto base. That is what we did.

I don't know about taking the shuttle for the "tickets" prior since we didn't have that process.  If you were driving I was going to give you a "short cut" to get past the Loooooong line to get in!

Comment by FLY on February 7, 2018 at 6:29pm

We have planned on taking a shuttle from the hotel morning of. Is it a good idea to also take shuttle day before to go get our passes?

Comment by belovedbyHim on February 7, 2018 at 6:23pm

FLY-- Driving on base or taking a shuttle?  You need to pick up your base passes too.

Comment by FLY on February 7, 2018 at 6:15pm

Yes, we are leaving tomorrow for the big day!
