Hi Prayforthe sailors,

What you have is wonderful.  We still needed the large items too!  After speaking to a mom that has done a Christmas packing party she suggested the idea of the small boxes.  But,  we still do the large boxes also.

I just wanted to let moms know that may not have purchased anything yet to consider doing the smaller sized items.

Sorry if I confused you.

Hey Donna, I just saw the post about items for the Christmas packing party.  I had sent out notices to the students at my school from the list you sent me.  Things are starting to come in, but it never said anything about small items.  I have gotten magazines, full size shampoo bottles, etc.  What should I do????

ZWB/Kathy -- Did you just head to PIR? Congratulations!

Thanks Donna,  I will put on the MAS page about the dinner at the Port 5.  I'm not sure if I'll be able to attend since my nephew will be married the day before on Long Island.  It's going to be great!  He's going to be married at Gurney's.  Gurney's is in Montauk, on the ocean!!!

Oh and how proud am I going to be since Andrew will be home on Leave.  He'll be wearing his Dress Navy uniform and I'll be beaming with PRIDE!

@ Donna, how exciting to receive an invitation to the Navy's celebration and dinner!!!  That is really very nice.  I wish I was going to be around, but I will be in PA looking for a new home for myself & probably my younger son, Andrew.

Did you leave a comment on the MAS page?  That is the kind of news everyone gets excited about!  You should plan to take a few pics to post both here and on MAS. That's the sort of thing Susan is always looking for to put in the monthly newsletter.  Just a thought!

Welcome Bird Mom!  And, @ proudmom63, a big welcome to you too!!  You've found a wonderful group of Navy mommas here.  I'm from MA, but CT & MA worked together on a New England regional packing party last year and got to know each other through that.

Now this year, "our" own CT Donna is going to be a Mom of the Month (aka MoM)!!  She's CT Donna, so you can differentiate between her and me (aka NYPD Donna, because my son is with the NYPD and a Navy reservist too).

@ Mom C -- so glad you'll be at the packing party.  I HOPE to make it, but will have to wait and see how things are in November. I don't know if you heard, but I lost my husband suddenly the end of May. I'm looking to leave MA and move to PA closer to my sister and brother who live in Lancaster. Since losing my parents and now my hubby, there is really nothing to keep me here in good ol' "Taxachusetts"!!!
