Happy Mother's Day to all of my fellow FC moms! Nick has duty today but did manage to call. He is in the two week basic seamanship class from 3 pm to midnight and then will be heading to the electronics class which I think is 10 weeks long if memory serves me right. It is a long road to FC land and we are just at the beginning! Wishing everyone a fabulous day!

Hi all, Nick gets to put the paint brush down!! He called yesterday and was starting the next round of classes at 3 pm. He didn't have alot of details yet but he was reporting in at 3 to do paperwork and this class is supposed to last two weeks.

Not here, but would be interested to know more roommates. Thanks you all for all your well wishes. Since we have had many family and friends in the Navy - everyone advised him in BC to shut up and listen, pay attention, and don't volunteer for anything. While he's been on hold, he said he volunteered to work at the Thrift Shop. He's done plenty of community service, so I hope it helped him pass the time.

Hi all, got a phone call from our son tonight. He is on hold waiting for the next classes to begin so he got to paint a building today.

He told us his building is typically all FCs students but there are some other rates there right now. His roommates are Evans and Lanier - do these Sailors belong to anyone here?

Kelly, could you check on San Diego. My brother went to San Diego and then Rhode Island, was in reserves for 30 odd years. But the couple that met in the Navy that are our close friends told us last night that Clinton sold that base among many others when he was President. Were they misinformed? Something to the effect he sold it to the Army.?. I don't always have my facts straight...

Crazy like a fox!!!
Kelly, his PIR was 4/18. He says he'll be in GL for another 6 months.
They finished and graduated from in doc (sp?) and he's been cleaning over and over something or some ship that doesn't need to be cleaned waiting for the seammanship class everyone has to take. Then I guess he goes to A school. I thought C school was next and was to be in GL, but I read the post below, could be in Virginia or San Diego.? I don't think they've told him that.

Great information Kelly, pretty much in line with what my husband and some of his FC buddies have told me but it's been a "few" years since they were in! I've been curious where the C schools are - my husband was in N. CA at Mare Island but they closed that base, didn't realize their was one down in S. Cal. He also went to the one in VA. We are expecting about two years of schooling (give or take) before he reports to his first ship.

Hi ladies - here's a tidbit that your sailor probably don't even know yet. When they actually become FCs and are assigned to a ship, there division is always called the ...Fox Division.

I'm sure you knew that you were raising a Fox!!

FC will be a good future for him CCR!
I posted a photo of their rating on my page - now I just need to figure out how to get it on this page!!

OK I just spoke to my son 5 minutes ago. He called! He said they graduate NDOC and he is definitely going to be a FC. We didn't know if it would be electronisc or FC, but he knows now.
