My son told me last week he wanted to be a navy swcc. My other son wants to be a navy seal. All in under a year this will happen. Can I ask how you all felt? Fears? Anxiety? Happy? Sad? Overwhelmed?

My son is in 808, but not for this group, but I've been through this with my other son, who completed the program and is now on a team.  Message me with any questions and I'd be glad to help you.  Just note, I'm in college and it may take some time for me to get back to you.

I haven't heard from him directly, but his fiancee heard from him. He us feeling very bad. I have no idea what is going on or what happens next. Thanks so much for asking. I appreciate your note. Your son is 3 divisions ahead of mine.
I have heard it gets tougher as they go. I wish you and your son the best!

Any news, yet, Fancy Nancy? Remember that even if he doesn't keep going, we have to still be encouraging and proud. My son made it through, but now I hear he heads to another training that is extremely tough. Yikes! However, we need them to be prepared if they're going for this program. (jeez, wouldn't it be easier if they were Boyscouts and that stage of "be prepared"?) so somehow, he'll work through this and be in the right place for him. Keep me posted, please.

Thanks for your encouraging words, okaraj24. I still have not heard anything. Is the "no news is good news" mantra true for training like it was for boot camp? Maybe, just maybe, He tried to keep going today. I hope to get some kind of news soon.
Thanks again.

It is one tough program and it's so admirable that he has gotten this far! Inmy son's class, people dropped and then seemed to be placed elsewhere, but I don't know how long it took to match them to a new assignment. One guy in his class actually got a stingray sting in the Achilles tendon! I really don't know how at of them do it. Keep giving him your support and love, as I'm sure you are! You'll probably hear from him soon. Good luck!

I am feeling very unsettled right now.  I think my son may have dropped from the program.  He has been very down for the past 2 weeks.  He said he hurt his leg while training and doesn't think he has what it takes.  His buddies have dropped and the remaining are very stressed.  If he did drop, what happens next?  Of course, he isn't answering any of my text messages, so I don't know what to think!

Can anyone answer a question about the time of day the guys go to the airport when leaving GL for SWCC training?  Do they go early in the morning and sit around the airport all day like some of the other jobs do when leaving for A school?  Just wondering how to plan my day.

Thanks for any info!
