Merry Christmas Pan Moms!

We will spend Christmas eve (today) with our middle son who lives close.  His wife's family is visiting.  Christmas will be quiet time, leftovers and football.

We spent last weekend with our youngest in Maryland.  His wife's family are visiting from Mexico for the holidays.  They had a baby shower for her.  She is having a girl in March.

Next week we visit our Navy son and family.  His son's birthday is New Years eve.

Tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. EST (pre-kickoff), I will raise a glass and  toast my Japan Moms.  Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Best Wishes and great health for all of us.

Go Eagles!

Hi Everyone

Well, her we are - another Christmas. ANd my sailor will not be home. You think I would be use to it - but no.  Still fell that mommy need of her kids to be ALL home for Christmas.

WE have no snow - just that wonderful wet rain. YOu know that feeling.  It is in the low 20's - wet - and temp dropping.  Right now it feels like 11 degrees. Now that would be ok if there was snow to look at. But no - I have wet mud and green grass.

Just wanted to wish all a wonderful Christmas.  Hugs

Happy Trails to You blondie.  Have a great visit.

Here no idea what is happening for Thanksgiving.  Sailor will not be home - to busy at work.  And the grandkids would be happier with McDonalds. Have to say , that would be easy.

Here I have been having another issue.  somehow I cracked the through a molar root.  totally through.  And it was on a tooth I had root canal on 8 years ago.  the one I had a palm tree cap made for. Well, for a dead tooth - I was in pain.  I had a golf ball size infection in the loser left jaw. Finally this last Monday and oral surgeon took it out. Finally feeling a bit better.   some how turning 68 last February -  I have just fallen apart.  And naturally, my warranty on parts. ran out.  Hope my tush doesn't fall off!  then I will have to figure what new style I want.  Maybe a Sophia Loren or Marilyn Monroe?  what you think girls?  Anyway - knock on wood - still got my old one.

Need to get along - wish all a Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs

Hope all had a fun Halloween. We did even though it snowed!

that's right first snow of 2023 - Halloween. It did stop some from trick or treating. But we still had nearly 200 that came to the door.  all polite and great costumes.  Grandson didn't want to go out - he helped to hand out candy.  But granddaughter put on her Princess costume and dragged her poor father out into the cold for candy! she is 4 and half.  Oh is she going to be something in her teens.

As for hubby and me - we sat at the door and hand out candy. But we did place a space heater near us.  We were happy and toasty warm.

Otherwise all well here .   hugs

HI All

WOW - what wonderful gossip!!!!

Drama - what a wonderful gift !!!! Wishing for only the best flying weather and just the BEST of time  . But would like to hear you are back on the stage.  Hugs

Blondie - OMG !!!! Sending healing vibes to your brother!  Let us know please how he is doing.  And your hubby not giving him the number - that's normal of all good hubbies - they think of protecting us (their wives ) first.   Good man. Hey- any new staff hired?

Kim !!!! The boot is black - right?  So just paint your toe nails and your healing will be a smooth ride.  A picture would be nice too. HOw is retirement?

Me- doing ok. Yes, I was in PT the day after surgery. And could bend my knee at 74 degrees.  So doing well. Now I am busy with granddaughter.  She was NOT behaving at day care - so now guess who is babysitting?  Yes - ME !  So now she is finding out she has school work with me. She is learning to read - from my first grader reader - Dick -Jane and Sally!  She is only 4 and half - But IF she wants to - she can read!  so I have my hands full and Shark is hiding.

Sorry this short - but I ate Chinese last night and it is not setting well with me today.  So I off to bed.

Hugs all

DramaSoul, My sailor is stationed in Rhode Island.  He works in Newport and lives in Cranston (about 10 minutes from the airport).  Enjoy your time.

Blondie, make sure to raise a glass of wine and toast all of us.  I hope your weekend is a go.

TLynn, Glad to hear you are healing.  We are doing PT at the same time.  After almost 9 weeks of no weight on my right foot, I am starting to walk.  I have to be in a walking boot and I need the crutches.

T-Lynn, glad to hear your progressing positively.  4o years!  Your soft tissue has a lot to unlearn!  Sounds like you're doing a Great job rehabbing, stick with it, you know it's worth it.

DramaSoul, What a Wonderful present!  Praying for safe travels and lots of Fun!

I actually got a lunch break today.... Got a phone call my Oldest Brother was taken by ambulance to Columbus for Emergency Surgery on his neck. He's been having neck pain, I suggested x-rays, then they gave him steroids and sent him home. This morning he couldn't walk or lift his head up. His wife took him to the ER, they did a MRI, slapped a neck brace on him and sent him off. They said they didn't know why he wasn't paralyzed. He called both my other brothers and then tried me of course I was at work and my personal phone turned off. So he called my Husband, who called me at lunch time.  He said Bud was in good spirits, has been through lots of surgeries and wasn't scarred. But Hubby said he only choked up when he talked about not getting to talk to me. I ask why didn't you give him the office phone number and he said I didn't think either of you needed that. He was gonna call my sister next OR maybe her husband he wasn't sure.  My Dad won't know until he comes out of surgery. So here I sit at work,  Trying not to worry.  God has a plan. I agree with DramaSoul we need to be more Grateful .

Thanks for listening.

I am here! Not posting but reading posts.
My Corpsman and his family are doing really well. Not sure if I posted but I now have TWO grandchildren.  Max is about to be 3 and Ellen (also known as Ellie Bean or Ellie Belly) is 9 months and trying to keep up with big bro. I got to see them in April and, miracle of miracles, I am leaving Friday to go spend 10 days with them.
Actually the miracle was a gift from the periodontist with whom I have worked for 25 years. He asked me how I wanted to celebrate 25 years and I told him I wanted to see my grandchildren again. Sooo…he got me a First Class round trip ticket! At least getting from Oregon to Rhode Island will be with lotsa legroom.
I am still working ‘cause I still love it and love taking continuing education.  And…my cats would not like it if I were home every day.
I haven’t done any theater since before Covid.
i have had a wonderful reconnection with my daughter. With all of the uncertainty and strife in the world, I am focusing on gratitude. So grateful for my family and family of friends.
