hello---I joined your group hoping that it would be a group about NROTC nursing options. My daughter is a sophomore and has been ok'd for the nursing option. I was looking for the group on N4M's that addressed those kids....any suggestions?

Thank you all for your prayers for my Dad, it means so much to me. I showed the emails and comments to him and he was overwhelmed by the support. I told him that is what N4M is all about. Just a quick update. It definitely is pancreatic CA with mets to the liver. He will be receiving chemo for palliative care only in addition to oral pain meds. It has been quite a shock to everyone since 3 months ago he was riding his bike 10 miles every day and walking 5 on the treadmill! He was in such good shape. The oncologist said that might help him in the long run, but unfortunately his CA is terminal. We are still praying for a miracle. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers and especially for your support. N4Ms are the best group of women I've ever come to know.

Hello everyone! Sorry it has been so long since I have participated. I've been dealing with a serious health issue with my Dad. He had a biopsy at Beth Israel Deaconess (in Boston, MA) for a large mass on his pancreas. They are 99.99% certain it is pancreatic cancer. We will get the results sometime this week. I'm just wondering if any of you, my fellow nurses, know of any new protocols for pancreatic cancer. I'll know more later, but I just wanted to put the word out that I just might need some help from some of you who might work in oncology. Thanks for checking around and when you think of it please pray for my Dad. Thanks, Donna

I'm a "nurse" navy mom from Murray,Ky. I work in a nearby hospital on the orthopedic floor working 7p-7a. My son graduated BC on Feb 26 and is now in Fla waiting for his school to start. He was told he may be there 6-8 months just waiting for his class to begin. I sometimes have a lot of time on my hands here at work to think about my son and how much I miss him even though we talk often.

Dawni, what are S.O. and pre-BUD? I am still not familiar with a lot of the Navy abbrev. and terminology. My son is stationed in Coronado. He has been there since Nov. We went out there in Dec. It is a beautiful place!

Hi all--brand new Navy mom. My "old" son is has been in boot camp since 2/23--he is 26. I am an OB/GYN nurse. 12 yrs hospital L&D, then 16 in an OB/GYN office---I have heard it all! Lots of dinner discussions about STD's, pregnancy etc--Ha! Years of my kids friends calling me for advice. My son hates all the medical stuff, grossed out by blood etc. My daughter--going to med school. Great to have a site for nurse mom's, we are a special breed.
