While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Two years ago today, can you believe it? Time sure does fly by. And the only time Loran has been on her ship was to unload it when it came back from deployment right after she finished C-school. It is now out of drydock and in the water going on short trips getting ready for a long deployment. It will still be a while but as soon as it goes and takes the squadron with it she will go as well. Right now she is SIQ and has Mono. They expect it to take about a month to get over it. Poor thing can't keep anything down. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I hope all of you and your Sailors are doing well.

Hi Everyone! I hope everyone has been enjoying their HOT HOT summer. We are finally getting some much needed rain after a month of no rain and 100+ heat. I haven't been on in a while so I thought I'd give you a catch up since we are coming up on our 2 year anniversary in a couple of weeks. Alot has happened to us I guess. With the closing of Ft. McPherson in ATL hubby has a new job at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Al. Since we were both born in Al. It is like coming home. Besides alot of people here yell ROLL TIDE. I do miss my Georgia Navy Moms though. We are looking for a house but while we do so we are living on post. It has been a while since we have lived in military housing. Alot has improved over the years but it is still military housing. Chris finished up his C school last Sept. in Norfolk and decided to go ahead and not take leave and drive to Everett Washington where his ship USS INGRAHAM is stationed. Drove 5 long days. Got there on a Thurs. afternoon. Signed in and they told him " Glad you are here we deploy on Monday" He about died. He had from 8 am to noon on Friday to sign in and take care of finance and get his car register and etc...plus all the other stuff to prepare for deployment of which he had no clue what he really needed. But he survived. The Sec. of the Navy came and spent the day with them while they were at sea. Since the Ingraham is a small ship (frigate) it was a more intimate visit. The Sec. spent some one on one with some of the sailors and spoke and gave out some awards. Even did some re-enlistments which I thought was cool. They did anti drug missions and were able to stop many and took down a few. Dan Rather did a special on their mission. It aired while Chris was home on leave after they returned. I wished that I had been able to be there when the ship came in.The ships Facebook page posted alot of pictures while on deployment and when the ship returned. I still cried even though I was 3000 miles away. He looked great. No longer the skinny lil guy that left 2 short years ago but now he really looks like a man. He did very well on his deployment. He got his cranking out of the way. They crossed the equator so he is no longer a pollywog but is now a shellback. Interesting ceremony, Pictures were so funny. I think he has done well. He made an EP on his first evaluation and was chosen to take the E5 exam early. He missed making E5 by less that a half a point. He was really disappointed. He told me tonight that he made another EP and will take the test again in Sept. So our fingers are crossed. He is still single and no wedding bells in the near future. Sorry I wrote a book but like I said before it had been a while. As we approach our sailors 2 year anniversary from BC I look forward to hearing about how our fellow Oreo sailors are doing. Always"Incognito", my sailor hasn't been on a ship yet, either. He'll be assigned to a sub in September, though. Glad yours is loving her rate!

Congrats to all the sailors who advanced on this latest cycle! I heard it was an exceptionally "brutal" cycle My missy sailor advance to PO3, yay! Guess thats not too bad considering she came out of BC an E1. LOL She is still really loving her rate and that's good because it makes me worry less. ;) She still has not been on a ship YET.........but its coming, eventually.

Hello, it sounds like a lot is going on! My son finished up his training this month and is now officially a Nuke! He is staying on in NY through mid-September for additional training for ELT (Engineering Lab Technician). My daughter and I visited him there at the end of April for a long weekend (wish it was longer!) and had a very nice visit--such a lovely area. He says he'll get leave in September (for 30 days, he thinks!), which would be great. He hasn't been home since last October for a family wedding, and that was just a long weekend.
Lala, enjoy your get-together! I've enjoyed a couple get-togethers we Michigan Navy moms had. We have our sailors in common, of course, but I love to hear what other sailors with different rates are doing. We have one at the end of July that I am really looking forward to, so any of you who might be in Michigan 7/29 are welcome!

If anyone in this group lives within driving distance to New Port Richey FL (surrounding areas include Holiday, St Petersburg, Clearwater etc I will be there on vacation and I am going to have a get-together for all of my navy Mom friends who would like to join us on Wednesday afternoon/evening. I will have goodies/food and we can all sit around (or in if you prefer) the pool and just have a fun time getting to know each other and talking about our recruits and Sailors. If anyone is in that area and would like to join us please send me an email and let me know. My hubby will be away on a fishing trip and we were gonna do it Monday because he wants to be there but that is our 1st wedding anniversary <3 So, I would love to have you join me and others and you will get to meet my Sailor as well :-) The date is Wednesday June 27th. If you would like to meet but that afternoon or evening isn't good for you let me know and we will set up a another time while I am there :-) I am so excited to meet some of my navy Mom friends!!! Hi moms it's been a very long time since I stopped through. Sounds like everyone is still connected. My son Is in virgina he is not likIng the Navy. He's young and still trying to find his place in life. We continue to encourage him to do his best

Hi all! Sounds like lots of exciting things going on...mr son is in eastern mediteranean. He has been gone since end of January. Hopefully be back by end of July. He married in September, she moved to VA in November then he left...she is doing well. We are very proud of them both. he just made E5 and was also sailor of the week in early May. He just seems to be thriving in the Navy!
