@Codersmom... I don't want to get my hopes up but the one you cannot see in the photo looks like it may be my SR. My husband and I have studied it and we are almost sure because we have shaved his head a many a day but he also know that the possibility that it's him is slim.
On another note though, Littlefoot (my daughter-in-law) told me that my son mentioned something about calling me in one of his letters to her. I was so excited I started crying! LOL I guess I just assumed that his calls would be for her, which is the way it should be. Just the thought of hearing his voice makes me cry right now! Either way, I cannot wait to see him 5/11!!
I took the first link of my paper chain I made yesterday! LOL it's the little things now I guess...
I'll have to look closer at them. I thought maybe I could see my son in a couple of them...
I also got a few letters today!! He mentioned quite a few SR's who have moms and wives on here ;) He likes all of them, and he is enjoying the boot camp experience thus far. Oh, and he realizes how much he loves and appreciates me ;) LOL
Daily life info-
They took an academic test last week, he did well. He got a new job as ship staff, not sure what this means yet. He was in SIQ for 2 days after having wisdom teeth removed. They get hair cuts on April 9. They have weapons training this week. He said he showed one of the female RDC's a picture of us, and she asked him " what is she doing with you" He got a kick out of that. He really respects and looks up the the RDC's he has. He said they are all very hard on them, but he can see though them, that they are everyday people behind all the yelling ;) Im glad he can see that!
Got my first letter today! It was short, but sweet. He had been really sick during his PFA but said he did quite well despite throwing up:) He said the pace is really picking up now and everything is "go go go!" He also said he is able to attend church sometimes and finds that refreshing. Yay!
so excited!!! 4 letters in one day and lots of details about daily life. I will have to share some of it with you all later cuz I really should be working at my job. Had to take time to tell you all this one part
"Today, when we put on those uniforms, it gave me a great sense of pride and honor. Putting them on definitely made my day!" On 4-3 they had 2nd uniform issue and got sized in dress blues, dress whites, coveralls and NSU's. This quote was his response after that was done.
He said high one day was 43 with 35 mph wind gusts and he has realized where Chicago got it's nickname.
I have to get busy on my job, but wanted to share.
talk to you all soon!
Fishing that is awesome. It really is a small world isn't it?
Good morning everyone. I hope you all are having a good week and getting nice letters from your recruits. I am enjoying myself in VA Beach with my Sailor. She works nights and last night we got to go to the base and watch her launch a jet. We met the pilot and a bunch of the squadron she works with. They are a great bunch of Sailors and so funny. It was awesome getting to see her at work. We got to take pictures but I don't know if they are allowed to be posted so I won't put them on here but here is one taken of her with one of the jets when she got honored and got her name on the jet. If any of you will have an Aviation Ordnanceman you have a lot to look forward to. They are a very close-nit group and I am so proud of my AO :-) IYAOYAS While we are here this week we are also going to see her ship The Harry S Truman and going to Colonial Williamsburg :-)
