OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello Friends!  In celebration of my b-day, here's my life verse:

"For God so loved the world,

that He gave His only begotten Son,

      that whosoever believeth in Him,

      should not perish,

      but have everlasting life."

I wanted to thank Jane Kramer aka MamaKrayKray for the OSU hat and the Buckeyes!!!  Yes, I was the one who won the last item auctioned at the Meet and Greet!!! It was fitting too because my last duty station before I retired from the Navy was Navy Recruiting District Columbus, and I'd become a big OSU fan while I was there.  Thanks again, it was a fun night and a great graduation!!!

Leaving this group now, ladies....blessings to each of your sailors in their Navy futures!

Hi ladies.  I hope you are all doing good.  Dianne, you always have the right things to say.

My daughter stayed in GL for A school.  She is in indocs right now and will find out on Friday what comes next.  She is meeting a lot of people and really likes it.  I was able to give her cell phone to her and we have been able to talk and text.  PIR was great but the weekend went by too fast!

Loving his A school base. Had to pass another Pfa today before they are allowed to start training. Training starts Monday. Already filled out his dream sheet. He requested west coast sea duty, overseas, and east coast sea duty, in that order. His mom is not too happy with that, but it's what he wants. Gotta love it when they jump in the deep end before testing the water. Shows confidence and commitment to me. Hope everyone's sailor is loving it like ours. I can hear the pride and happiness in his voice daily.
