Greetings to all of you!!! just notice that in alittle over a month, it will be two years since our sailor graduated bc. Hope all your sailors are well and are happy with this navy life...just saw my sailor...still in the trainning phase for him--almost done with proto-type and nuclear training. he was home for a week a month ago for the 1st time in 18 mo..
Hello All! It's been a rough 13 weeks, but it's almost over. My son just finished with the CRUCIBLE and is now a UNITED STATES MARINE!!! We leave for San Diego in one week for his Graduation and to bring him home for 10 days of leave. I got to see his platoon video last night. I CRIED LIKE A BABY when I saw him! My daughter is home with us for one more week. She arrived last week. We were going to surprise my son at graduation wwith her being there, but that fell thru. Her orders were changed at the last minute. So now instead of leaving for San Diego with us on Thursday, she leaves to report to her ship. Very heart breaking, as he was really wanting to see his sister, since it's been since Christmas when she was last home. But that's military for ya.
Here is pics of them both sailor.jpg marine.jpg
Hi All! GNLmom almost made me cry! I miss everyone & I didn't realize that until I saw her familiar name:)
We will be visiting our sailor next week. He was able to come home for Christmas, but we haven't seen him since. He will have 2 weeks leave at the end of July too.
He's been enjoying his time in the Navy & I'm still a "Proud Navy Mom"!!
Hope everyone is well & Happy 4th of July!!
HI everyone! wanted to check inand see how you were doing. It's been almost a year since this group started boot camp. WOW!! Can't believe it's been that long already. My sailor will be home for a couple of weeks at the end of August before having to report for duty at her ship. I am excited to see her again. It's been since the Christmas stand down since I have gotten to see her. I am counting fdown the days, only 59 days to go!
On a more solomn note, my son left 2 weeks ago for his boot camp in San Diego. I got his FORM letter this past Thursday. I have joined the Marine Family network and they are very informative and supportive. Maybe it's because I have so much time invested with this group already, but I feel more comfortable coming to you all for support. Guess I gotta learn to make new friends again, lol. His graduation is mid September and I am planning my trip. Already looking for hotels and have been checking flights since February.
I hope everyone is doing good and their sailors too! will check back later. LOVE YOU LIKE FAMILY!!
Just thought I would check in a see what everyone is up too.. My sailor is doing good, is at his first duty station for at least 2 years.. bought a car.. and is happy.. I on the other hand decided to make some life changes..(think its my mid life crisis) I have left my job of 12 years and decided to go back to school!! I am in a CNA class now, will graduate in May and then I am going to take the CMA and Home health Aide classes.. My goal is to work for Hospice.. I have thrown myself into certain organizations that support our military, met and had lunch with two other navy moms last sunday, and have really been happy with my new life..
So.. even though I think it is my midlife crisis,LOL I am having alot of fun and feel so content.. And here I was dreading the empty nest syndrome!! LOL
Military friends, I just wanted to caution you not to accept friend requests from other "navy wives" you don't personally know or don't have mutual friends with (even then be cautious). In the last two days, both a local fb navy wives group and a Hawaii military community group I'm on have had individuals with fake profiles request adds to the group and then add other navy spouses as friends. The profiles are clearly fake (stolen pictures from other wives blogs, etc), and the profiles only created a day or two prior. When questioned about their authenticity, the profiles suddenly get deleted. The incidents will be reported to NICS but I wanted to remind EVERYONE to be cautious. Practice OPSEC and PERSEC and DON'T hint at anything. Al Qaeda called for its members to glean info about military member and their FAMILIES via social networking a year or so ago so please be overly cautious. Loose lips DO sink ships.....remember the USS Cole?!?! Feel free to repost
She's still in Pensacola A school until May, but we're sitting on pins and needles until mid-April when she finds out where C school will be and where she will be working as an ATI after that. We're hoping for somewhere close to California. She's doing so great in A school (#1 in her class) so we're hoping that helps in getting to pick where she's posted.
Good luck to everyone's graduates and hope everyone's Navy careers (short or long term) are flourishing.
