WELCOME to PIR 11/16/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Milligan7-give me a bit of time and I'll find out. That's right up the road from me and I know I read about it. I have a couple of facebook friends who should be able to give me the information.

Does anyone know an addressor the name for the vets that hosted some of our new sailors on Thanksgiving day.  My son said it was in McHenry, IL.  My son had a great time and I think it helped with him missing not being at home.

Thank you, FTLW.

Group leaders, for your upcoming PIR groups, I would highly recommend ACE Rent A Car.  We had a minor (well not to the car) coming from downtown Chicago on our way to the airport and ACE was right there to assistance us.  Though we had to wait for the tow truck, Ace sent a driver out to take us directly to the airport.

Beccazay, my sailor is now down at PCola and is presently on hold so he doubts if he'll be able to come home for the Christmas shutdown. Guess we'll find out more when it gets closer to that time.

Thanks again to such a wonderful and supportive group.  I'm sure I'll see some of you in another N4Ms group.

Does anyone know how Christmas leave works in A school? If the school is closed for two weeks will they get leave and be able to come home that entire time?

So glad that you all had such a wonderful experience.  I welcome any of you to drop into the next PIR group, 11/21, with stories of your experiences and "hints" of how to made it better.  Those ladies only have 3 more days and they are "there" since this is a Wed PIR.  Here is the link to their group:

Blessings to you and your sailors as they begin this next journey in their lives!

Thank you for this site.  It was so helpful.  PIR was emotional and beautiful.  I made it to Sarge's meet and greet but not until about 7:30 and we were exhausted like everyone else and he was giving his talk on his pointers.  My son will be staying in Great Lakes we think until the end of December and then onto VA but not sure.  Again thank you and I will look on N4M for groups when my son gets to his next destination.
