N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security)
(Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips)

This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way.

The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

 • Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for your personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

mickeyd - if you are on facebook, look for the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command page. Under Photos, look for the album 21 Dec 2012 Graduation. They posted some pics from our sailor's PIR. Hope this helps. :)

Hey Denise, thank you so much. I think your son was even in the same DIV as my son. I think you were sitting behind me at PIR. My pictures just did not come out very good. I will take anything that is offered from you and anyone else.

I know this is a long shot but I am looking for a couple of great pictures from this PIR day. Maybe the big door going up or just something cool. Also my sailor was in 11/37 if anyone has any good shots of that division. My pictures did not come out so great. Trying to put a scrapbook together for my sailor.

I hope everyone is doing good and their sailor is loving their Navy life. My sailor is in Japan and still trying to adjust to being so far from home. So is his mom!

I absolutely cannot believe it is coming up on a year that our sons and daughters went to BC. What a year it has been.

Good Morning!  I hope everyone is doing well - just wondering what everyone from our PIR is up to?  My son had his A school grad on 4/19 and started Power school on 7/1/13....He will stay in Goose Creek, SC for this school also.  Here's a picture from his A school grad...

Hi mickeyd - wow - your son is in Japan!  That just seems like it happened so quickly.....I hope that at some point in time you are able to visit him there...... I've actually looked at the Japan Moms group before and they sure seem like a fun group - and very supportive of each other!  Hopefully your son will enjoy his time there too.  Thanks for updating us and know that we are all here for you!  Hugs to you and to your son!

Hi everyone. I like to come back to the PIR site especially on Thursdays and to to the group that is graduating. It just takes me back to the weekend we were all there and the anticipation and excitement of seeing our sailors for the first time in many weeks. My son is in Japan. He has been there since Feb 11 and just got back from a month long underway on the McCain. New experience for him. He just turned 25 on the 27. Only the second birthday of his life that we were not together. The other was when he turned 20 in Amman Jordan. He will be in Japan for two years. He is adjusting but still missing home for sure. I am a little jealous of the moms that will get to visit their sailors who are stateside. Hug them tight. Still so thankful for Navy For Moms. A great group of them on Japan Moms. Take care everyone.
