Liberty is different than Leave.  Leave is similiar to requesting time off for vacation at work, they must submit a chit and have it approved.  Liberty basically means that they have "liberty" to…Continue

Good news on Niko, I wished Casey would do that do, but he's adamant about getting out in June.  Might be because of a girl he met, we like her BUT they are already talking moving in together.  She graduates college in May, he will start college in August, just worried that they will be on two different paths that might be hard to intersect.  He is doing security now, leads in own section, seems to go well and really likes it but just doesn't like the Navy life.  I guess I can understand, he wants to be closer to home, just hope like H*** he goes to college and is mature enough now, time will tell.  He finally promoted, decided to take the test this time and ranked up.  Why he waited so long, I have no idea, I think he was still having a hard time with this not working out like he thought it would from what he originally wanted.

He was home for Thanksgiving, both boys were and they had a horrible knock down drag down fight before he left.  Why they still fight, I don't know, jealousy?  Casey says that Preston is just too immature, HA!  I reminded him of what HE was like at 18.  He wasn't home for Christmas again, third year in a row, but we did a mini Christmas before he left in November.

Hope everyone is doing well, I keep up with most of you on Facebook.  Love the bond we have, such an amazing group of Navy Moms!

Casey is trying out for the navy rugby team, fingers crossed for him. He does love his job (never thought I would say that with how rough the first two years were). He is NOT re-enlisting, will be home this time next year, and back to back deployments helped with that, like Niko. He is happy, we hoped he would re enlist but he wants to come home and go to college. Our worry is that he will catch back up with some of his friends, although nice, don't have a lot of motivation. He had two groups, one,who a lot have graduated college, some going onto to med school, masters, etc and the other group, the good time group. Life has been hectic, Preston, the youngest leaves next month for college, and I tear up just thinking about it. I follow all of you on Facebook, and I tell myself that I need to check in here and the life gets in the way, and yet three years ago, this WAS our life. How much our boys have grown and so have we!

Greetings!  Keith "the nuke" was promoted to 2nd class this week.  His enlistment is for 6 years, so he's got a ways to go.  He is stationed on the Michigan in Bangor, WA (near Seattle, our home) and has yet to go to sea, likely around August, I'm told.  He still doesn't know if he will reenlist yet.  Seems like many of you will be leaving the group so good luck to all, it's been great knowing you.
