OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).  Still limited to 2 guests maximum.

Specific information on this policy change will be provided in the coming days and weeks.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your support.

RTC Graduation

**UPDATE 7/16/2021**

**UPDATE - 2020**

Due to COVID there is no public PIR. The graduations are on Thursday, and the video of the graduation is posted on RTC's FaceBook on Friday at approx 3pm. Please keep in mind that a division may need to complete additional quarantine during training which will delay their graduation.

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Please see changes to attending PIR in the PAGES column. The PAGES are located under the member icons on the right side.

PS. Judi, can you put your FIL's picture on the Navy History Group? And anyone else, if you have any historic photos of ships, subs, family, etc., I'd love for you to post them in Navy History. I find it so exciting.

Judi, thank you for responding.

32nd st. - he says he hasn't noticed anything "unusual" or "bad".
He just got a car - he just can't possibly live without one. (I'm the mom whose sons car broke down twice from GL to SD - and all the N4M's took care of him, and I had to go get it in OK and sell the car.)

Now I have another problem I need help with.
He says they built these places for couples in the Navy I guess - or somebody. and nobody is renting them, they are offering to pay him to rent there. (he wants to get away from the roommate who is stealing from him)
Now I am thinking (suspiciously) they want him in and stuck in a contract after saying they'll pay him for the first month to move in.

Has anyone heard of this?

I've heard even more horror stories - I.D.'s, credit cards, laptops, etc. It always could have been worse. He's a generous guy by nature and sometimes gets taken advantage of. Thats OK. Nice guys DON'T really finish last...They usually get the good girls - I HOPE! I wouldn't mind a grandchild sometime in the near future. No pressure!!!!

I'm trying to sell my sons car he tried to drive from GL to SD (broke down twice) but its fixed and running great. Wants it sold to buy a new one or I could drive it (24 hrs from TX) and fly back. Interesting ideas from ya'll. He's on 32nd also and has a wonderful roommate who steals from him. Yes, he locks stuff up, but a couple times he grabbed his ID and went to the galley and hid the wallet quick so he wouldn't miss dinner I guess. The roommate has been kicked out - so to speak- and is waiting to leave.

any 32nd St. Naval Station or USS Comstock people here?

My sailor is in San Diego for 8-9 mo. (Presently at home for Christmas) I want to thank the Navy mom whose sailor daughter's last name rhymes with Bagel - for taking him to the airport to come home for Christmas. God bless you!
