My son is at GL waiting to class up for EM A school. He is anxious to get his orders and have an idea of what comes next. I am hoping for Eat coast state side but know the needs of the Navy will determine his next step.

Good Morning proudsailormom here is his rate Hull Technician (HT) - Job Description and Requirements yes he will attend A school in GL. Usually A school doesn't start right away as they have to wait for the class to fill up could take a week or two. He will be instructed about putting in a Chit for leave. some do get approved some don't. Usually they will get approved it just determines. My son received his approval thru email so please make sure your Son has an email.

My son's rate was changed to HT so this changes everything I thought he was doing.  If I understand correctly, he will go to A school in GL and then get stationed somewhere?  He said his A school won't start right away so will get any leave?

I believe he will be in GL for A school here is his rate

Machinery Repairman  click on that and it will give you much needed info. once PIR is over he will have a few minutes with you and family, he will proceed to go back and get his belongings and be bussed across the street. around 2 or 2:30 he will then be able to call you to say be on your way so he can be picked up he will already have been briefed on what he can or cannot do, and the time for him to be back. And make sure he is back early you may have to sign him in and out. So make sure you do not lose tickets for PIR you will need them.

I don’t know where he’s going yet. ☹️

Will he be going to A school in GL? If so they will have to proceed back and be bussed across the street. Then around 2 or so he will be able to call you to come pick him up. I will get back with you.

Thank you so much, I miss him sooo much. Can’t wait to hear his voice and tell me he’s okay. My daughter is thinking of following her brother too. My son is on Ship 02 division 913.
