My Grandson in A School at Pensacola, FL. He says he graduates Sept 14, 2016. Is there any event after finishing A School? I do not want him to be without family if there is. He thinks he will have leave and then will be back for C School. Can anyone tell me difference between A School and C School? What is after C School? I am really new with this Navy life but hey I made it thru his boot camp and that graduation was awesome!

A School graduations can vary. It all depends on the rating, i.e Navy job. I'd suggest you look for a discussion group for his rating and ask there. Need help finding the correct group? Look here: http://navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-navy-job
Or tell us the rating and maybe we can point you in the right direction. But don't expect anything as awesome as boot camp PIR.
A School vs C School: Think of A School as basic training in his field and C School as more specifics. Like A School for an aircraft mechanic will be about general aircraft maintenance, but C School will be about repairing a single type of plane.
After C School? Navy training never stops. There will be plenty of on-the-job training once he moves to the fleet. There may be more classroom learning. To advance to paygrade E4 and beyond will require rating-wide tests that require lots of self-study. If he wants to advance into a leadership position, there's training for that. If he is on the ball, he will want to take advantage of the Navy College Program's Tuition Assistance (TA) and work towards a college degree at the Navy's expense. Lots of opportunities.

Most "A" School graduations are around 30 minutes or so and the Sailors receive their certificates for completing the training and there is an opportunity for loved ones to take pics if they are there. Generally there are not many loved ones in attendance since the Sailors usually do take about 10 days of Leave following "A" School graduation, but it is a nice ceremony if your Sailor wants you to attend. Some Sailors do not take leave between "A" School and "C" School if their "C" School is scheduled to start within the next two weeks. Your Sailor will know his specific situation as his graduation draws near.

Speaking from actual experience with a Sailor who has attended 2 different A schools, one had nothing in the way of ceremony and the other had a nice event with guests invited. One offered leave after A school with no C school, while the other hustled her off to C school without a break. You need to do a bit of research for your particular rating and school .
