Some of our initial moms from Navy for Moms are starting to see their sons and daughters complete A school. Depending on their classification, it could mean more advance training and for others it could mean orders to a ship or shore duty.
Every ship in the US Navy fleet serves it's specific purpose - do you know what kind of ship is on your son or daughter's "Dream List"?
In the School and Education Forum, I have started slowly pulling together some basic information by ship type for your review. It could be a great conversation with your sailor - what type of ship would they like to be on and why?
I currently have three or four types of ships posted and will work on adding to it in the days ahead. Hope this is helpful to any mom wondering...what happens after school.

Molly, google USS Gunston Hall, Sailor Son joins them on July 1. Also an amphibious ship holding 4 of those HUGE hovercraft that come out of the back of the ship. He saw one in San Diego over weekend and said they were huge. Now he will work with them on daily basis for 2 years or until he gets other training. His snipe hunting skills will be useful as he sounds like he may be one of only 2-3 AC & R guys on the ship. Little ship, 2 football fields length. LOL He will be stationed at Little Creek, Va
