How do you find out when your sailor returns

My son is on his first deployment (USS Harry S Truman) and although I know about when he'll return, I'm not 
sure.  We live about 3 hours away from his port so it's possible to meet him on his return, but can anyone 
advise me on what to expect and how to get a better handle on the date - is it possible to get a time?

    Ma'am,
    You need to get in touch with the Ombudsman (command trained and authorized contact point for family of Sailors) for the command. This is the list from the Truman website.

    They will be able to give you updates, but only if ok-ed by your Sailor to do so.

      Ma'am please learn about OPSEC. That information can not be given to you over the internet. EMC has pointed you in the perfect direction on learning the details for homecoming and I can tell you that they will tell you if your sailor has not signed you up for the FRG emails, and you havent sent a SASE to the address the FRG provided to get the homecoming packet then its up to your sailor to get your that info by snail mail. And as of now, there is not much mail coming off the ship anymore.

        Its always been for me 3 or 4 months out they gave the month they would return 4-8 weeks out they gave us the week to 10 days that they would be in, and just a day or two out I would get phone call from the DB saying he was in port (he was with an air crew so they fly the helos in when they are a 4 hour flight home. Cell phone work 12 miles out to sea.
