Child not assigned to division/ship after 5 days, is this normal?
My daughter left for GL on 12/15. I called the recruiter this morning, hoping to get an address. He said that has not been assigned a ship or division, so the address is not known. Is this normal after 5 full days? He says there is nothing to worry about, just that there are not yet enough recruits to assign her. He encouraged me to call back on Wednesday(2 more days).Has anyone experienced this?
Don't worry, this isn't unusual. The recruiter is correct, they have to wait until they have 70 or 80 recruits before they can form a division. Because it's so close to the holidays there may not be as many recruits as normal. They'll be keeping her busy and they wouldn't let her have any of her mail right away anyway so she's not missing out on anything. Start writing letters, number them, and as soon as you do get her full address you can start mailing them.

I called today and the recruiter had just left He finally got my son's address today but looks like I won't get it till tomorrow. Looks like I will have another letter ready to go! Funny thing is we got the box last Thursday. I just would like his mail to get to him before Christmas.
