When can a recruit have access to their cell phone after graduation?

We are going to graduation in August and he would like his cell phone for A school.  When are we allowed to give it to him since we already know he is not able to have it on RTC.  Can we give it to him after he graduates but before he heads off to A school?  Or do we have to wait and send it to him at A school?

      My son PIRed last week.  His RDC allowed them to return to RTC with their cell phones as long as he didn't see them (don't count on that, however).  We took an all black backpack and an all black shoulder-strap tote to the airport on Saturday which contained his civvies and laptop that he then took to A-school.  Once in FL all of his personal possessions, with the exception of his cell phone and ipod, were taken and locked up until he hits Phase 2.  They should be returned to him next week or the week after.  If he stays in GL for schooling, those Sailors had to move from RTC to the other side of the base after PIR and then were allowed to take their personal items onto base later that weekend (they were no longer on the BC side).  Hope that helps!

        you can give it to him immediatly after graduation when they make" liberty call" at the end of the graduation.. but keep in mind they are not allowed to walk and talk on the phone at the same time so maybe wait untill they get in the car with you guys .....just went to a graduation july 8th .. i wouldnt miss it for the world it was my fiance. good luck :)
