Joining the Navy- Worried about MEPS and Boot Camp?

First of all, Hi! :) I'm Keidra and I'm 17. I've decided to join the navy and my MEPS physical is in about a week. I'm pretty excited but there are a few things I'm nervous about.

I was wondering how strict the doctors at MEPS are about acne and scars. I don't have acne at all on my face but I have acne scars on my back and chest (boobs! soo embarrassing!) from when I was younger and my acne was really severe. The scars aren't bad, but they're very noticeable (lots of darker spots on my skin) and not very attractive looking. I haven't told my recruiter about them...

Other than the acne/acne scars. I'm perfectly healthy and I got a 82 on my ASVAB.  I'm not "in shape" but I've been running and exercising and my recruiter says that won't be a problem, I'll be in shape by the time I finish boot camp. The only thing I'm worried about are my scars. Will I be disqualified? :(

Re Boot Camp: I think I could pass it, I really really do, but I don't really know what to expect. Any advice would be nice. I can handle being away from home. I'm not very close to my family anyways. How  hard is it? What should I do to be sure that I pass?

~Thanks :)

Join http://www.navydep.com to learn the ins and outs from the DEP point of view. Craig runs that and will steer you to some good links on there.

No, the acne scars should not be a problem.

Take things oe step at a time.  If you are accepted, get in shape and continue to run, swim (learn to swim if you don't know how and it will make things easier for you), and exercise until you leave.  Injuries are more likely to happen or those who start training at BC rather than before. Do the best you can and work wih your shipmates as a team.
