Question about what a sailor can take to corry station

My daughter will be stationed at Corry Station. She has send me a list of things she wants me to carry her after PIR. Will she have room for personal stuff (clothes, sneakers). Are they allowed to have this. Don't want to carry it all the way to GL just to bring it back home with me. Do they have rooms or barricks?  I leave tomorrow. Any info will be appreciated.

she wont be able to use civilian clothes when she first gets there, so I wouldn't carry it with you. Its fairly easy to ship things to her. She will not be able to take things back with her to BC barracks. I don't see how she can get them to Corry Station before leaving BC?

Remember and you can let your new sailor know, whatever they take to A school, they have to move it to their first duty station, its a lot of work. Because many don't want to move the stuff they wind up throwing it out or giving it away.

A schools are in phases, and they are earned, so it could be a week or two before she gets to wear civilian clothes on her off time. In the first week she is required, even in her down time, to be in Navy uniform ( usually the blue camos) even if she leaves base.

        Hi Cheermom

I took my son's things to the airport - his laptop and phone before they departed to Pensacola.

Then when he called and was allowed to have his civies -- I sent him a box with some clothes and a care package with it also.  They have closets and they have drawers that lock and they share their rooms with 2 other people.  He also has his PS3 with him and some other items.

They are right -- she will have to take them when she leaves.  He grad today from A school and is packing up his things -- he has sent a few things back home by Fed Ex today.  But, he is taking all his clothes and electronics with him.
