How long does it take for mail to get to recruit

I already know that recruits wont get mail until after P-days. But how long does it normally take for mail to get into recruits hands. Like,after pdays. Say week 4. How many days did it take your sons and daughters to receive your mail? I am trying to estimate the timing on when I send a letter and when it will get ti my recruit

    Once they start receiving mail, they receive it M-F. How long it takes from your hands to theirs depends a lot  on how far away you live from Great Lakes.

    I know that my son writes on Sundays and we receive his letters on Thursdays. I'm guessing that it's a similar time frame heading to him. Mine has PIR this Friday - I mailed his final letter this morning.
