Camp Lejeune / Camp Johnson / Field Medical Training Battalion moms, family and friends - Welcome!  Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune is home to more than 47,000 Marine and Sailors from around the world.  FMTB, the eight-week training course for corpsmen, is on Camp Johnson, adjacent to Camp Lejeune.

    Not yet.  He will graduate July 18.  .  If he graduates the 18 how soon are they allowed to leave?  Can they fly out that day?  Our other kids have their 4h week that week and wondering if he will be home in time to watch them show their horses.  I dont want much do I?

    We are leaving on Wed to visit him is SA.  All 6 of his sibs are getting very excited.  Not to mention me:)

    Gosh everything is up to the Navy.. Your son will know..or should know..

    Have you ever been to SA? I was there in May..

    My daughter graduates on the Friday... Shes in the Army and also in SA : ) I now have a Navy Corpsman and a Army Medic..

    Tenn Mom- we haven't heard his voive in over a month, but he did call his girlfriend a couple of nights ago. She texted us to expect a phone call but it never happened, I guess he used up his time with her. At least we know he was finally back on a base and safe.

    TNM - I have been wearing my wrist bands she gave me over a year ago .. I told her when she finishes BC I would take them off. Well, I didn't and I won't take them off until she graduates Airborne training ...

    Not sure ..She leaves next week for Ft Benning you never know when classes will start... I think Airborne Class is only 2 or 3 weeks long and then off to Ft Bragg she goes.. I will have two of my kids in NC : )

    TennMom - My corpsman son is at 29 Palms and looking to return to Lejeune soon.  I think our boys have been together through boot, A school, fmf, and now 29 palms.

    As of today my son is now at CL.  He won't do FMTB until August so hopefully he will get some great clinic time until then.  We are excited that he is in NC.  We are in the Orlando area so that feels closer to home.  It was hard leaving him at the airport today but we know this is his future and we are so proud.

    mamawalrus - I googled Cherry Point and it in Havelock,North Carolina... I have never heard of it before...

    I think that many of the Marines from CL heading to deployments use Cherry Point to fly in and out of and it's also home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.

    Well, I am a rare Mom and I am happy.  My son called me one day after being at CL and said he could have his car.  Hubby and I could not get the car to him so we flew him home and he can drive it back tomorrow.  Nice surprise, dogs are confused!  Happy 4th to all.  Love the sign on banner.

    OK, only Moms can giggle at this but I really believe this is destiny and my son's future will be interesting at best.  My sailor's duty is L&D.  As a RN I told him screaming HMs, screaming women in labor, HM's are softies, lol.

    Hey MEsailormom my son graduates on Tuesday also..we are staying at the Baymont but just going to be there 1 day...after graduation my son has to be in Knoxville on Wednesday.  Has your son told you anything about graduation or how to get on base...my son said they have not told his battalion anything.

    Check out the Discussion above that I posted last May when I was there at Camp Johnson for graduation:  FMTB graduation info - about getting a car pass, etc.   As far as I know, the only thing that has changed is the building where graduation is held (it was the Schoolhouse for us).

    I just called the Camp Lejeune Visitors Center and they said your sailor has to call them the same day you are picking up your pass.  The number is 910-451-2197.

    rockwido and his biggestfan....we HAVE to get together on 7/19. No apparently they have not filled our Corpsman in at all. Frustrating. I am having mine call for pass on Monday (I arrive around 2) and hopefully hooking up with him that night to show me where to go for the event. I think grad is 9-11. I am staying at Baymont Mon&Tues and then down on Emerald Island. Not sure how much time my cub will have. He is driving to CA,,,,any of yours need a ride? He could use company......I am very excited and dredding the heat!

    The heat I'm used to......been 110 heat index last week here.  I am jealous that you are going on to the beach...hope you have a wonderful time in our great state.  I will get to spend only 1 day with my sailor he has to be in Knoxville on Wednesday.
