It just hit me.   Black Friday is coming up soon.  Last year I really stocked up on supplies.  I told myself it was part of my Christmas shopping but I lied to myself. LOL!  I was wondering  if anyone had some favorite websites.  I have recently discovered oozak.com which has free shipping with a $50.00 purchase.  Joanns runs some great sales.  Their shipping varies but is also free with  $50.00 purchase.

I am so excited! I just went on FB and found out that I have won 45 Elizabeth Craft peel offs!  This has really made my day.  I never win anything so this is a big  and wonderful surprise to me.

Enabler alert!  There is an AWESOME new line of paper that just came out at the CHA show a couple weeks ago.  It is called Anchored and it's made by Authentique Paper Co.  The paper is very nautical and more grown up than much of what I have seen around.  Here's a link so that you can see what it looks like Authentique Anchored I bought a BUNCH of it at my lss last week as soon as it arrived.  You are going to LOVE it!

  • Doreen-ProudNavyMom

Sierrascrapper - thanks for telling us about this sight.  I bought some of the paper.  Also, I found some NC and SC stickers I haven't seen at the local stores.  I have to scrapbook our trip to Charleston and Asheville.  I am almost finished with my 2012 book and will be able to start this vacation album.  My friend and I have planned several all day scrapbooking marathons for Feb/Mar.  Already had about 4 of them so far.  Have gotten a lot done.

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

Doreen...So glad you found that website useful.  I googled the product and that was the first site that came up that had it for sale.  You are going to LOVE it!  That is so awesome that you found some other items to use for your pages on the site too.

Percussionvalentine...I didn't see the Graphic 45 stuff, but now I'm going to look for it.  My lss carries that paper line too and usually I don't like their stuff all too much because it's just too busy for me.  But...maybe I will like some aspects of it.  Thanks for the heads up.  Have a GREAT time at Scrapbook Expo.  I love those conventions!  I haven't been to one in a few years, but I really want to go to one again soon.  They have one about 2 hours from here in the fall and another one that is about 5 hours from here in the summer.  I doubt I'll be going to any soon though as we are saving our money for HS graduation and my son shipping off to GL out of Boise which is a 6hr drive and then saving our money for PIR in late August.  But maybe, just maybe...by the time October rolls around, I'll recover from all the traveling and be able to go.  Even just to go to the convention floor and look at all the vendors.  I miss that the most!  So glad you love your Silhouette.  I LOVE mine too!  There are TONS of tutorials out there online so google it and see what you can find.  You will learn so much more.  I still haven't used mine to it's fullest potential.  I'm actually using my machine right now to cut out numbers for my twin boys' graduation announcements.

    Happy Scrappin' ladies!

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

PercussionValentine...yes lss stansd for local scrapbook store. We are fortunate to have 2 within 15 minutes from my house and one about 30 minutes away. I worked at one for 10 years but unfortunately it closed a few years ago. I miss it a lot :-(
The conventions are fun and expensive, but you learn so much when go. I haven't been to one for a few years. The best tip I can give is BRING YOUR CAMERA so you can take pictures of all the displays the vendors have on the sales floor so you can use them for ideas for your own scrapbooks.
  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

Oooo. I'll have to stop in at joanns. I LOVE paper stacks from DCWV.
  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

I stopped at my lss today and asked about the Down By the Sea Graphic 45 line. The owner told me that it won't be shipped until April. But I did get a sneak peek. The line is beautiful and so are the stamps. I asked her to call me as soon as it arrives :-D

I went to Joann Fabrics yesterday because I needed adhesive.  I found that stickers, photo albums, storage was all 50% off.  So excited, I stocked up on photo album refill pages, stickers, etc.  Then I had a 15% off coupon that was good for regular and sales items.  The adhesive wasn't on sale but I used a 40% coupon.  I bought a lot for just $45.  The coupon is only good to today.  Maybe it is on their website.  Going to scrapbook all day with my friend.  Then next week, another friend invited us over for Friday night and Saturday all day scrapbooking.  I should finish my 2012 book.  Then I need to do the South Carolina trip when we visited my son at Nuke school.  I have to catch up my sailor's book for any new pictures.  Then maybe I can start 2013.   Lots to do!

  • cathy

Joanns' website is even better.  They have so much product.  If you sign up for emails, you will get all sorts of fantastic deals.  They also will notify you for shipping deals.  Last week they shipped any size order for a penny.  This is important to me because I do not have any scrapbooking stores so everything gets shipped.

Does any one know of other sites that has good prices and reasonable shipping?

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

Cathy... Here is one website you might like. If you click ship by brand, it seems easier to peruse items and you can shop by theme too!
    http://scrapbooking-for-less.com

I'll search for some other sites too.
  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

This website has all kinds of crafting supplies and I have used them before

You can find really good deals here too:

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

Doreen... You did a GOOD job shopping at Joanns yesterday. Keep plugging away at those pages! I've got a couple crops I'm going to next month so I'm hoping they are VERY productive.
  • cathy

Sierrascrapper - Many thanks.  I am going to that site now.

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

I saw someone post on FB yesterday that Michaels has a bunch of military stickers and embellishments on clearance. I think they were from K&Co. So...get 'em while you can.
  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

I just picked up the NEW Sand and Sea paper line by Graphic 45 at my local scrapbook store (lss). OMG it is AMAZING!

  • Sierrascrapper (ETN2)

I haven't had much time to scrapbook lately, but I have been paper crafting getting ready for my twin boys' graduation. I can't believe how quickly this year went by. Just a few more weeks til my Future Sailor leaves for BC. You can be sure I'll be scrapbooking more after he goes to keep myself busy.

They did PT at my son's DEP meeting today and the Chief was so nice and said that next month they will take a group photo for me for my scrapbook.

  • eljac913 (Ship 12 Div 053)

Hi everyone, I love scrapbooking and have a lot of military things. Like many of you, finding the time to do it is difficult. This group inspires me to find a little time each day.

Hi: I am new to this site. I am however a fan of scrapbooking. I am starting a small scrapbook so I can keep it  out on display and it won't take up a lot of space.  It also makes it manageable for me to start and complete. Any suggestions as to what you have kept and wish you'd kept for the book?  Thanks for any suggestions.

  • Doreen-ProudNavyMom

I think my favorite thing to look back on is his letters from boot camp.  I am on my 3rd album for 6 years, so I am no help on making a small album LOL!  I am hoping it is something he will show his wife and kids someday.

  • PKM

Regarding the letters. Great Idea! I will add them to my scrapbook.

  • Susan mom to Niko

Just started moving my scrapbooking stuff...  finding all kinds of lost treasures...  can't wait to have time to actually use some of my treasurers!

  • PKM

I saw an easy way to make a small srapbook. Take envelopes (I used 6) and tuck the flaps into each other. It creates pages, one blank and 1 with an opening to put pictures in. I am making one for my OCS graduate.

  • PKM

I too decided to move my scrap area. I'm looking at converting an old amoire into a scrapping place. I'm finding that it's no good having cool tools that you can't fnd or forget you have. Anyone have storage ideas?

  • Susan mom to Niko

I use 12 x 12 paper... best stacker for my paper was a diy...  I bought one of the kits that makes wire cubes.  Made one cube and then using zip ties used the other pieces to put shelves in...  be sure to put the shelves with the raised wire side down.  then you can slide paper in and out.  One kit will make two cubes and fill it with shelves.

  • PKM

Cool paper storage idea. I'm currently using a plastic milk crate and used foam board as section seperators. 12×12 b paper fits.

  • PKM

Like the recycle cabinet idea. I'm going to use two book shelves and a table in between.

  • PKM

I will be making a scrapbook for my son and daughter-in-law at an all day scrapbook/craft show next week. Have you found that a 12x12 was best or was a smaller book better for the Navy family that will move around a lot?

I decided to make a section just for the Navy Wife. Adding a page for her to write some thoughts/memories on.

  • PKM

Saw a 'Scan and Cut' on QVC, I wanted to buy it so badly. However, I need to use what I have.  Don't go to their sales page, it is like having an addiction (to scrap supplies).  I  must say out loud, "I have enough, I have enough!"  HA HA!

  • PKM

Found gel pens and glitter pens at the store 5 BELOW. They are not good for photos, but ok for cards. Also, Wakmart has the best price on 'glue' tape

  • PKM

If you have a chance to go to a scrap show and have a day or two of cropping on site. Take advantage of it. I have been to two of these events and they give me a chance to only focus on card making or scrap booking. I will attend one tomorrow and start a scrap book for may Navy son and his wife.

  • PKM

Started my Navy son's scrapbook.  It was fun and made me even more proud of him.  I had him journal his experiences and put them into a page protector.

  • PKM

Had to move my scrapbook area, AGAIN! Getting new windows and I had to get it away from the window. I am finding that I really need to see what I have and then I am more likely to use it.

  • PKM

A moment to remember all who have served and are currently serving in our Military. God Bless them all!

  • PKM

Hugged my son one last time before he and his wife head to Virginia for schooling. So sad I'm going to miss them,, so excited for their new adventure, so PROUD  of their courage to serve.

Making a scrapbook of their Navy life with help keep them close.

  • PKM

Discovered that the local art museum is very glad to get any scraping stickers, paper, cut outs or other stuff I have too much of. They use it for make and takes.

  • PKM

Hello to all scrappers! Anyone missing they're Navy LO?

  • PKM

Anyone else scrapbook or make cards?

I finally made my scrap room. It is very nice to have a place that I can shut the door and leave projects in mid point.  I do keep finding that I rearrange things way too often. Does anyone else do that?

I started my own  memory book about my son and his wife, as they go on their journey in the Navy.

Hi. If there are any scrappers out there, let me know. I'd like to share tips and tricks with other paper Hoarders!
