Merry Christmas to all!!  NMH's!

Happy Friday all!  Been pretty quiet around here.

I'm counting down the days to see my Lil Oliver!  Youngest sons wedding is quickly approaching (3/22/24) and B & C and Oliver are coming in February (15-20) so they can go to the Batchelor/Batchelorette parties.  B is the best man for his brother.  Because it's a weekend thing in Palm Springs we'll get to spend time with them since C is only going to one of the events (due to her still breastfeeding).  I'm excited!!!

And then they come back for 6 days for the wedding in March! Woohoo!  I'll get me some more Oli hugs ;-D

 Hi moms!  Had some busy months going on here.  My husband had spinal fusion surgery Dec 18, spent a week in the hospital then a week in re-hab.  Still has visiting nurse and PT/OT. Coming to the house.  I’m having to do all the “house work” and driving and tending  to our 4 fosters.  We have a new routine so it’s not so bad.  Jacob and family came home for New Year’s and baby C was wearing a shirt that said I May be little but I’m going to be a big brother! (Took us all day to notice it BTW) lol   Yes! Another baby on the way! Due at the end of August.  New baby and C will be about 16 months a part. 
  Now the sad news… Jacob got his orders last week he deploys next week.  Baby C is such a daddy’s boy, he is really worried about him, and having a hard time thinking about leaving.  Sid will be holding down the fort, managing their menagerie of  animals, managing a vet clinic, being a single mom and pregnant.  Her sister is thinking about moving down with her, but has a German Shepard which would make 3 dogs along with everything else. But it would definitely help her out. 
 My SC son is coming home for a few days the 15-19. They are hoping for 6 yr old Bella to see snow. Although we just had below zero temps and 15 inches of snow, it’s melting fast as we are back to high 30’s and 40. 

Jacob94mom - WOW!  You've had a lot going on.  First off I hope that your husband is recovering and feeling better!  Be careful though that you don't overdo it.

And what!!!!!! Another grandbaby!!!!! OMG how exciting is that!!  Boy are they going to have their hands full but in a good way lol!  Ugh, the dreaded deployment.....I just don't know how families do it with littles.....man that has to be hard.  I sure hope her sister can help her out.  B&C haven't said anything (yet) about another.  I'm pretty sure they want another but there's been no discussion of it yet - at least to us lol!  If they can wait about 3 years we'll be moving back there but I don't know if they want to wait that long....we shall see....

9 days and counting until I get to see my Lil Oliver (and my son and DIL lol!).

Hi ladies! I can finally say Jacob is safely on the Ike and I am once again the mom of a deployed sailor.  After delays, one take off and return, back and forth to the military airport, 3 times. Loading and unloading the plane. Hotel stays, (provided by military and meals)  waiting for hours for busses. He and his wife and baby saying good bye 3 times.   It was crazy week for sure. I got my last text from him at 1:15 Friday morning that they were flying to the ship.   I’d give details, but it would be too much! lol    Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. This momma too!  I’m trying not to watch the news and worry.  No news is good news! And one day closer!   

Jacob94mom - your post brings back a flood of memories in my son's past deployment.  Your son's service and the families sacrifice are so real, and need to be respected and appreciated by all!  I will be thinking of you all with positive thoughts and prayers.  Please keep us posted.  Take Good Care!  NMH's to you!!

Jacob94mom - ah the Navy ways....it's never easy.  Keeping your son and all his shipmates in our prayers.  And yes, One day closer!

B,C & Oliver arrive Thursday night!  I can't wait.  And today my lil Oli is 9 months old ~ time sure flies!

Oh how fun - enjoy your time together!!

Hi all - I'm back!  Dropped them at the airport yesterday morning and they made it home to Michigan safe and sound.  Long day for them...My little Oliver is such a joy to be around.  He's just such a good baby and so inquisitive.  Our little dog, JD, was wonderful with him too.  Pops and I took him to a basketball game on Saturday and he had a blast.  Local college team - it was so much fun.

And now I only have to wait a month to see him again for youngest sons wedding!  

What a cutie!!  So glad you had time together.  You have a lot to look forward to in the future!!

Jacob94mom, yes indeed.  I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet), Oliver looks like he was watching the game with such intention... so cute.

Sorry I haven't been on here that much.  My husband passed away on 9/1/23.  He had triple by-pass surgery and never recovered from the surgery.  He was 71 years old.  He never was able to get off the ventilator.  This has been an adjustment in so many ways.  Our sailor was home during this time and it was actually a planned vacation on his part.

I hope everyone has a great 2024.

Jacob94mom - I am so sorry to hear about the death of your husband and your profound loss.  I hope you find comfort in the love of family and friends.  I am thinking of you and sending prayers and love.  NMH to you.  

Mariecb- it was not my husband who passed but Tammy Girls. Mine had neck/spine surgery in Dec and continues to recover. 

TammyGirl - so sorry for your loss. I’m happy your sailor could be there with you. 

B’s as you were spending the weekend with Ollie I was spending the weekend with our Benny and Bella from SC. Bella was thrilled to get to see a couple inches of snow! We celebrated my daughter’s 40th b-day visiting several wineries.  Benny is 6 months weighs 18 lbs. He’s in the 90th percentile for a 10 month old.   One the other and of the scale, making his own curve is Cameron at 10 months is 15 lbs and has started crawling.   Mom is doing well holding down the fort while dad is deployed.  Her sister did move in with her a couple weeks ago. 
 Different times for this deployment, the ship has WiFi although spotty at times.  My son has been texting  nearly every day.  He called once to tell us the new baby is also a boy!  He wanted a girl this time but mom wanted a boy, so she wins. lol  Jacob is adjusting well, and so far getting along with his co-workers. They haven’t found him a permanent spot to work yet so he is mostly doing his qualifications    Keep him and his shipmates in your prayers.  They will have no port calls this trip   

Thanks for the clarification Jacob94mom!  Glad your husband is recovering and things are going well for your sailor, family, and healthy grandchildren!!

TammyGirl - I apologize for being confused.  I send your my heartfelt sympathy and love.  NMH to you.

Tammy Girl - I am so very sorry to hear about your husband's passing.  My condolences to your family.  And yes, I am glad your son was able to be there with you too.  Please know that we are all thinking of you.

Jacob94Mom - these littles just keep growing!  Oliver is 25 pounds now at 9 months.  Tooth # 3 just popped through and #4 and 5 are getting ready to.  Another boy!  Wow ;-D    I"m so glad you have more communication this deployment!  Bummer though no port calls.....that's a lot of time to be spent on the ship :(

My sailor will be getting new orders in the next few months.

Got a picture from B,C & Oliver - from the basement!  Tornado warning at 1:15am.  All is well now, B said just still lots of wind.

Yesterday was National Sons Day!  B is wearing the sunglasses and N is the one getting married in a couple of weeks.  B was in town for the bachelor party.
