I am curious to WackyWave about the notice to all about the homecoming and tiger cruise?  hmmm...interesting..

UPDATE:  I just got an email tonight from US Air.  They are crediting my FULL REFUND for my ticket to my visa that I used to purchase it.  I should see it on my credit card statement within the next 2 statements.  So, I guess I won't be boycotting US AIRWAYS.  It took persistence and a lot of threatening letters and phone calls, but in the end, they did the right thing, which I kept telling them I was sure they wanted to do.  Kudos to US AIR for supporting the Navy and it's families, and NOT charging any ridiculous fees for canceling the original flight.  Now, I have no hard feelings.

hi all, this page has been very quiet lately. Is everyone on the Tiger Cruise? Does anyone know when they are supposed to be home? My son joined up with the ship after he finished A school about a month ago. It was too late for me to sign up for the Tiger Cruise and I am unable to go meet the ship. It is a long way from Nebraska to San Diego so I have been going crazy looking on FB to see pictures of their arrival. Does anyone have any news. Navy mom going crazy here lol. I know it has been a very long journey for everyone else here.

I'd love to hear from those who were able to be there! Share pics?  Share experience?  I hated to miss it, just couldn't afford the trip from NC.

sailormom59 i would love to see pictures too. There hasn't been anything posted about their arrival today. I haven't seen anything posted anywhere about their homecoming. Not even on th Stockdale facebook page, :(

The amazing photographer from the Stockdale had an unfortunate death in his family...be patient...He got off the ship and hopped on a plane to go home

The Homeward Bound Pennant was flying and looked amazing.  Unfortunately - the media leaned towards the Lawrence's homecoming due to the death of the 2 pilots

PS - they added a TON of pictures to the facebook page during the last week

I saw the Tiger Cruise pics! They were great! I am looking forward to everyone posting pics to the Stockdale FB page for us to see.

I'm SO happy my son is finally back on USA soil...so relieved that our sailors are HOME.

My son just received his news that he will be based in San Diego and on the USS Stockdale! I believe Feb 5th. Glad to be here!

Welcome aboard ItsMeCyndi!  What is your Sailor's rate?  My Sailor is an OS2.  They are just back from their 2nd deployment.  I'm in cold, cold, cold and snowy Michigan.  Where are you?  I'd sure love to be in sunny SD right now!

New Stockdale  mom Aug. 2014. I am in Washington. Very proud of my sailor as he has completed A and C school and matured beyond my belief. 

I was wondering if any members were able to go to family cruse day aboard the stockdale Friday Oct. 10th, 2014. I was unable to go and feeling terribly sad. My son sent me video and looked amazing. His friend who is also a Navy core man just a few miles north of the 3rd street base was able to get day off and went with.

Hi everyone. My husband just got orders yesterday for the USS Stockdale and we'll be heading to San Diego in a few months. I read online that the ship is preparing for deployment. Can anyone tell me when the ship will be deploying next?

Sheree07,  I am so happy to see someone else on  this site.  I and Welcome to the Stockdale.  My son has been on the Stockdale since March.  They are getting ready to deploy in October.  I am not on the computer alot in the summer, but I will check this site more often now that I know you are here.  What is your sons rate?

So happy to find others as well.  I had almost given up.  My son has been there since April.  He is an Electricians Mate.  We are visiting him the first week in August, right before they go underway again.

Hello traefrank, and musicteachermom,  My son is an E.T has been off the ship most of the summer, as they have been sending him to more c-schools.  His first one was in San Diego, which he didn't mind.  His second one is in Norfolk ( which he doesn't like).  He will get done just in time to get to the ship for deployment.  So no leave.  Oh well, I guess it is a good thing that we visited him in July.

My sailor has been off ship since May, attending various A Schools.  Does anyone know if his address has changed?  He just returned to the ship late Friday Night, and with the deployment coming up, I wanted to get his birthday box mailed.  Can anyone help me?

Hello TahoeZephyr,  I accepted your friend request.  How is this Silence thing going for you?  I am not ashamed to say that I am struggling.  Especially since his golden birthday was on the 25th.  That was the hard part.  I did send a birthday package, but he probably won't get it until Thanksgiving.  HA HA.  Sending out the Christmas box this weekend.

musicteachermom,  my son joined the Stockdale about the same time.  He is also and E.T.  I wonder if they were in A School together.  My son hasn't been on the ship much ( until now) because they were sending him to 2 different C-Schools.  So this is only the 2nd time that he has been out on the ship.  Nothing like learning everything all at once.  I just hope that he got his sea legs and didn't get sick.  When you visited your son, did you get to go on the ship?  We did, it was quite interesting.

Is anyone else struggling with this silence thing?  It is driving my bonkers!

Hello and greetings, all. Just joined the group today. Son has been on ship since early summer 2017; this is our first deployment, too. I lurk on the ship's facebook page hoping they'll post something, lurk on the carrier's page too, in hopes to see the Stockdale in the background, but the carrier has gone silent of late, too. Odd not to know *where in the world* our sailor is. (And his younger brother heads to Marines boot camp tomorrow, so I'm permitted to be an emotional wreck, but aside from some tears mid-October, I'm OK.)  Prayers to all of you.

Hello lomom, I hope that you got a little news from your sailor in the last couple of days.  According to my sailor,  they are loosing communication again soon.  Keep in touch.

Hi Bandmom - Thanks for the well-wishes for our recruit! Have had a few emails from our sailor. Found images on the Stennis facebook page and the Pacific Fleet Flickr page, and a news article on the Pacific Fleet's Navy official news site. :-) Hope you all are looking at those pages, maybe you'll see your sailors!

I keep hoping to see my sailor, but his job is in a classified area, so I probably won't get to see him.  Hopefully you will see your sailor!

Bandmom yes I am going on the Tiger cruise and taking my grandson with me. My son has been onboard since 2015.

kari67 - I will be on the Tiger Cruise as well!  This is our son's first deployment, so I'm looking forward to this opportunity :)

My husband will be on the tiger cruise.  I have claustrophobia so I will be at the docks in San Diego.  We recieved an e.mail today saying that we should receive the final itinerary by April 1

  Hopefully that is true.

When are you all flying into Hawaii? My grandson and I are arriving on the 12th in the am.
