DEP-Leavin' for bootcamp in February

We had a call this morning from RTC.....thankfully, just to confirm some medical information.  Evidently, today is medical day :)

I got the we're here phone call @ 11:15 CST last night. He's 24 and has lives away form home before so it's probably better then if he were 18, but still hard.

Got my boy's box today!  He just left on the 8th, that was fast.  What a wonderful delivery.  :)   Can hardly wait for his letter!

@4leafclover My son's box came FedEx and required a signature.  His phone and cord were in his jacket pocket.  No letter today :(

@lemonelephant  I see you posted the 04/01/2016 PIR Divisions.  I haven't received my letter yet.  Will our recruiter know what division my son is in?  Thanks!

PIR: 03/25/2016 TG 20 -11 Divisions 129-136, 809, 810, and 920) 4 guests (Divisions not confirmed by the RTC.)

PIR: 04/01/2016 TG 21 (to be updated; begins with Division 137 and contains Divisions 811 and 921)

PIR: 04/08/2016 TG 22 (to be updated; begins with Division ??? and contains Division 922)

@meadechef  The box came FedEx, we had to sign for it and yes, his phone was in it, stuffed in a shoe.  Hope your son's box comes very soon!

If you have not yet joined Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), now is a good time to do so (especially if you have a recruit at the RTC) and to begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) starting with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (some of you have changes that you need to make--at least change 3; make change 4 if your profile pic includes your future Sailor or recruit) and then go on to Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

@JulieTimsMom, I'm waiting on that form letter too!   Our recruiter told me my son's division and address, but I'll wait until the letter arrives before sending anything.  Hope yours comes quickly.

I have not received my form letter either :-(. One of my daughter's friend's is in the Air Force basic training and my husband came running in the house with a letter from her thinking that was the letter I was waiting on. NOT... but it was nice to hear from another recruit.Patiently waiting so I can mail me many letters and Valentine's Day cards.

@4leafclover, when did your son arrive at RTC?  What is his PIR?

My neighbor just brought the missed fedex notice to us:( apparently fedex came yesterday but they did not ring the bell because my husband works from home & he didnt here it ring:( feeling disappointed!

If you have not received "the box" and will be gone, leave a signed and dated note for the FedEx driver to leave a package from Great Lakes.

@JulieTimsMom, my son arrived at RTC the evening of Feb 8th, made the "I'm here" call at 9:30 pm.  According to his recruiter, his PIR is April 1st but I'm waiting on the form letter before I bank on that. 

I received the letter today.  Who'd have thought a simple letter could cause such excitement.  My son arrived at RTC late on Feb 3 and his PIR is April 1.  I ran straight out to the Post Office to mail all his letters and valentine ;)

@JulieTimsMom, I'm so happy for you! 

OMG!!! I really miss my son. It's Saturday and I can't talk to him, I can't even text him, if he weren't here with me.... This is hard...

I know it's cold there, and he's a southern kid, never exposed to that type weather....

I just wanna know he's ok...

Single Mom Woes

My'sMom I started writing to my son a little everyday, this way I feel like I am talking to him & I won't forget everything I want to tell him when he calls.

@lisa1212 I write to him everyday, as well.  Like a continuous conversation, just without his input. It's just hard, he's my only child and the separation anxiety is starting to get the best of me

Hi everyone!  My husband arrived on Feb 10 and I'm already missing him terribly and going a little crazy!!  I'm writing to him everyday about my day and things going on here.  I can't wait to get the address so I can send it out to him!!

My son is off to MEPS tomorrow and then GL for boot camp. I miss him being in this house already. My heart is beyond sad.

My husband left on 2/10 and I just got the box!  It was emotional but I am relieved it came!!  Can't wait for letters!!

His box came today.  I'm at work, my neighbor signed for it.... I can't wait to get home and get it.....

I miss that young man so much... He's gone think I've lost my mind, once I get the address and start sending all these letters. Or is that a bad idea?  Will that relay to him that I'm here worried or will it ease some of what he maybe going through?  It's been just the two of us for so long, I don't want him to worry about me, like I worry about him...

Whoo, got my form letter today!  My son left on Feb 8, and his PIR is 4/1/16.
