My son shipped out the same day as yours from CA, we got the box today, but no ship or division info yet. Did you get that info recently?  In the box? BTW, Monterrey is gorgeous! 

Got my final call last night at 11:00 pm. Glad I had my phone next to me. He sounded excited but couldn't quite remember what he had to say. :) He said he'd call again in 3 weeks.

dudiesmom, my son just turned 22 this month. First full day of boot camp today.

How did you find out when his first day was, stepsyl?  I've been wondering when inprocessing stopped and training began.

Oh, no it was just his first day of inprocessing. He just left yesterday :)

stepsyl...lol...Trying to figure out whether the eight weeks includes the inprocessing time or just the training time...thought you had some kind of insight!  :O

Hi WillsMom. My son is 19. He won't be 20 til this winter. I'm kind a blessed and lucky in that I work on a military base and in my office work alongside Navy, Army and Air force personnel, plus there are Coast guard and Marines in other offices. since I work with the young service members I see them mature and work together and grow together. They also seek mentoring from us older civilians and this lets me know that my son will be fine and work in a great environment. I'm retired Army and so is his father. We both work in military installations with military personnel and both of us were and currently work in the same field my son chose, so it's kinda "all in the family" :)  We just have to get through the hurdle of him passing basic training!

@NYRican924 I also tried the recruiter today and he said he hadn't rec'd the info yet :-(  I understand the whole AXE thing, LOL, had to clean out the shower of about 5 different assorted scents of the stuff. That's ok though, reminds me of him.  @Willsmom, thanks for the encouragement. Our boys got there about the same time...were probably processing about the same time too. We'll see what divisions they end up in. My son just turned 19 during processing week btw...sounds like he's one of the younger ones.

I finally got my box today. His clothes and a small note on the back of a Mcdonalds receipt. No address yet or any info. He left for BC 05/12.

I son arrived at Boot Camp on Monday, May 16, and I received the box today. I really didn't think it would be here so quick. Wasn't quite ready to see it on the front porch. Nothing but his clothes and cell phone. Did anyone else arrive on the 16th? I can't wait to hear his voice again or receive the address. I have wrote letters every day and waiting to mail them.

Hey NYRican924!  Wow....although I was in the Army (eons ago!), and know in my heart how the military is, somehow it's different thinking of my son going through it!  I mean, I know without doubt he can handle it...guess it's just the thought of how the drill instructors can be...lol...

So willsmom and Sailor Mom Lisa, I may be getting ahead of myself but I'm guessing our young recruits will be graduating on July 8th :) I dunno, but having a date in my mind kinda pysch's me out. I can sort of be counting down with him. I really can't wait for that first letter in his god aweful handwriting, hahaha.

Navy mommo, sorry I left you out of that list. I know there's more out there who will be part of the 7-8 PIR. I'm really just guessing at this point about which group we'll be in. Still waiting for the specifics in the letter from RTC. I love your profile pic btw! @ Mominva, Looks like you're one week ahead of us. Sounds like you'll be out there for the 4th of July weekend...that will be fun! You'll have to keep us in the loop as you'll be going through it just before us :-)
