    ProudmomtoSean,

I am sure will probably meet. we have friends who are in the Navy now who have been a big influence in my son TR life, that are stationed right outside Phoenix. I believe they live in a town called Surprise. What will be your sons MOS. Mine is going to be a MA. Are you ready for this? I am so proud of him and very supportive, but the mommy in me wants to lock him in his room. Now my 17 yo has decided to sign.

  • AZMom

swaneyboyz03, MA is a rating very dear to my heart since my Sailor is an MA. I see you have joined  MAA Moms. Sometime between now and the end of BC, join San Antonio MA's; there is a "Break down week by week" discussion that will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). Other groups to check out are New MAA Mom's (it has not been very active) and Security Sailors (it is not as active and includes loved ones of Sailors from other ratings as well).

  • lemonelephant

For those of you who have not done so yet, be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and start checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members). It is never to early to start considering OPSEC and PERSEC and the Page, OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile) has information for you and some of you need to make some of the changes at the bottom.

  • Pam- Jared's mom

Jared leaves 1 week from today.  I'm sad to see him go but know that he's heading in the right direction.

  • Jesmom6

My son leaves for boot camp in 4 days. He says he is more than ready to leave. If only he would stay home for a little while so we can spend what little time we have left with him! He is celebrating "his summer" with his friends before he leaves.
  • proudmom

My son is leaving May 14th. Very nervous and trying to get things organized.

  • Navymomx2

Pam J My son leaves the 7th, too.  (sniff)  Where is he heading from and what is his rate?  My son is flying out of Boston and will be an HM.  I'm feeling for/with you, mom!!  We can do this!  So proud of my boy, err, man.

  • Pam- Jared's mom

Navymomx2 My son is flying out of Denver and he will be an AO.  He is so excited!!!  His buddy is in A school in Pencasola now and has nothing but good things to say, so that has made him even more excited.

  • lemonelephant

Pam J, I see you have joined Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola; sometime betwwen now and the end of BC, join AO Moms, Families and check out Parents of A School Sailors in Pensacola.

  • tradewindmom

Our son leaves May13th from Dallas, then to Great Lakes. He is out of the Athens, Texas office .I must confess. I'm not familiar with all the Capital letters and numbers describing the different groups .
  • guitarmom

My son leaves this Sunday May 5th, and will be in Great Lakes May 6th.  I heard that this group will help me to know what he is doing and to find photo's of him.  I'm not sure how this all works and can use any and all help.  I want to thank Hope for turning me on to this site!

  • tradewindmom

Me too. I am so proud of Jakob. When I tell people he leaves on Mothers Day I get the pity party reaction. Yes,I am going to miss him,but he couldn't have picked a better day to honor his values. I will always be proud of Jakob and his sincerity
  • 239NavyMom

Got day 2 of BC be hide me  lol,  anyone else had one leave on the 1st of May

  • lemonelephant

Charlie's mom, the PAO posts pictures randomly on the RTC's fB site at https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand, but they are random and there are no guarantees of a pic of your SR and they do not take requests. Be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and start checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) there.

  • lemonelephant

Several of you have Usernames that incude your last name, since that may draw attention to your SR, you should change that and the URL to your profile page. Numbers 1 and 2 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making
    Changes To Your Profile)
(clickable link) within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will tell you how to fix both. There may be other changes you will want to make as well.

  • Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons

I just thought I would pop in and see how everyone is doing. I can't believe it has been three years since i joined this group. My daughter left for boot camp on May 25th 2010. Boot camp drags by but after that the time flies lol. I look forward to seeing all of you in the PIR groups once you find out when your recruit will have PIR.

Does anyone in this group live in the central FL/Gulf Coast area? New Port Richey, Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg, Orlando? Would you like to come to a Navy Mom Meet and Greet On Friday May 10 at 7:00pm at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs at the Sponge docks? I would love to meet you all, hang out, and talk about our Sailors. Feel free to bring someone if you like. Also please join my FL facebook group so you can stay connected to other FL moms/families and find out about other meet and Greets in the future. We will be there again the last week of June/first week of July and will host a Meet and Greet Party then as well and host a Navy/Military Scrapbook Make and Take party as well. I love meeting my Navy Mom friends :)https://www.facebook.com/groups/147079298773780/

  • Jesmom6

We dropped our son off at the recruiters. We will meet him at his hotel tonight and then at meps tomorrow. His friends came to wish him luck this morning. A good bunch of kids that will miss their support system dearly.
  • Ladichez

@swaneyboyz03 my daughter is going in the Pac program for aviation as well.
  • Pam- Jared's mom

Tonight is a family get-together to send my son off.  Tomorrow we will drop him off at the recruiters tomorrow, then join him for dinner.  Tuesday is his swearing in at MEPS and then his adventure begins.  I know he will do well, but it will be awfully quiet in our empty nest.

  • mdw6886 (Ship 13 Div 249)

So, today is the day!  My son leaves for his final MEPS today and will fly out tomorrow.  We will miss him but are excited that he his started a new chapter in his life.

  • Navymomx2

OMG I am a hot, freaking mess!  My son leaves for MEPS today and will fly out of Boston in the morning.  Had my last "at home" hug, and many tears of joy and sadness, this morning.  By the grace of God, things just fell into place and my husband, myself and our daughter were just able to book a hotel tonight in Boston.  No traffic hassles to deal with now in the morning to get up to MEPs for the big event.  And one last trip as a family to the North End for dinner and cannolis.  Love my son so much.  So proud of him.  We wish they could stay little forever, but I know that was never God's plan.  His will was for me to raise a man of honor, courage and integrity who will make a difference in this world.  The Navy is blessed to have him.

  • Nautigator-Ship4Div800

Hi Everyone!  I am a mess too!!  Dropped my son off at the MEPs hotel yesterday Sunday.   He flys out today (May 6th 2013) for GL.   Just by reading through the website I think I firgured out he will be in SHIP4DIV800. (SpecOps)  I learned you dont want pics of your recruit, so I took those down.  No use of name either.    If there is another Mom out there with the same BC dates, please connect with me!  :)   Also my recruit will be in GL for 6 more weeks of additional physical training after PIR!   WOW what a journey!

  • Pam- Jared's mom

Dropped my son off at the recruiter and we are getting ready to go downtown to have dinner with him.  We will go to MEPS to see him sworn in in the morning, and then he will fly from Denver to Chicago.  I'm excited for this new chapter in his life but my husband said I embarrassed him by crying.  I can't help it!  He's the last one to leave home.

  • guitarmom

my son was picked up by his recruiter yesterday I drove down and had dinner with him.  I was told I wouldn't be able to see him sworn in.  But he texted me right after.  He is on a plane for Great Lakes.

  • lemonelephant

brittaniiii, enjoy the time you have together. Slip a note and a picture into his wallet so that he has something to look at in the weeks before he gets mail. Check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for... for other ideas.

  • lemonelephant

It looks like several of you are starting on this awesome journey this week, Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) will let you know what is (or will soon be) happening for your recruit. If you haven't joined that group yet, I invite you to do so.

  • Prime's Mom

Hello to all !! I am Prime's Mom. This name I choose is special to my son for reasons he and I know. So lets get down to business all you new newbies like me. I joined navy for moms via my son's advice. He has really good advice. He leaves may 14. I try to become stronger with each day that passes. So far I am loosing that battle. I am in the process of writing my goodbye ( really need to stop saying goodbye) letter. I started 3 days ago and I still have so much to say. But I will get it done and I hope it's not too big to fit in his wallet!!! THIS IS HARD!!!! Sorry had to shout that. Ok I'm back. Had one of those moments again. I will not do that in front of him so I will do it in front of you guys. Any way planning a big send off / birthday this weekend with all his buddies. His birthday is in June so I gotta do it now you know cake food fun and nothing but good times. Friday through Sunday. I am so thankful I will get one more Mothers Day. Anyway so nice to talk with everyone. Thanks for listening. Gotta go work on that letter I was talking about. P.s. I Love my son , my unique wonderful talented son!!!!
  • Navymomx2

well, that's it... my son is on his way. My husband, both our daughters, my daughter's fiance and I were all at MEPS this morning to see him swear in and take off. Now the waiting game begins... the call, the box, the PIR info letter. Is it July yet? So proud of my future sailor.
