DEP-Leavin' for bootcamp in May

Anyone receive "the box" yet with kids that left last week? Just feeling anxious I guess.

PIR 06/20/2014 TG 32 and PIR 06/27/2014 TG 33 are the PIR groups for the May shippers so far.

Prayers for all those recruits trying to GET to RTC. (Sometimes being close enough to travel by bus has it's advantages.) Hopefully, everyone will arrive safe and SOON.

Received the scripted call late Monday night. My husband said he was told he had to send his wedding ring home but everything I've read online (and we all know how reliable that is...) said they could keep their wedding rings. Anyone else know anything about this? I'm just curious :)

Yeah got my box AND letter today. PIR July 3rd. Ship 09 DIV 212. Anyone else with this date?

2boysandamom, That means that the 06/27/2014 TG is VERY small, only 3 divisions??????? 209-210 and 933. That is strange so we need to confirm that your form letter is correct and that that division does not have PIR the week before.

The 06/27/2014 TG contains Divisions 209-210 and 933. If you have received a form letter for another division in that TG please let us know since a mother with a recruit in Division 212 has received a form letter indicating PIR on 07/03/2014 and Division 211 should be the brother division. The smallest TG I have previously seen is 4 divisions, so I am concerned that form letters have gone out with the wrong PIR date, an event that has happened a few times in the last year (and even in this calendar year).

LaurenM87, he should have been able to keep his wedding ring unless it was unusually large. 

love.my.sailor.1225, yes, PIR is 06/27/2014. All recruits have 6 weeks of training and her division has time to get that in. Once the PIR date is set, it does not change for the entire division except in very rare cases (there were orphan divisions in my Sailor's TG reportedly due to disciplinary action, but I have not seen that since then--2008).

My son shipped out May 6th and so far we have gotten his box but no letter as of yet. His recruiter has told us his graduation date will be July 3rd. Ship 02 Div F 2104. Hoping the letter comes soon.

Dajam5, don't mail any letters to Ship 02 Div F 2104. That is not a correct division. F usually indicates a division for all females and divisions have 3 digits except for divisions when a recruit is in holding, which have 4 digits. Dajam5, F-2 could be the compartment that he will be in within Ship 02, but that still does not explain the 104 since we are well past that division number unless the recruiter transposed the digits in the fiscal year, which would be present in the info that he has for a division number and should have been R2014934I. He could be in Division 934, which would be housed on Ship 2 and does have PIR on 07/03/2014. See 800 and 900 Divisions, within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones). (Only 900 divisions are housed on Ship 2.)

Dajam5, you confirmed what I just wrote. The recruiter transposed the digits in the year. The F at that point is strange; it should be an R.

Dajam5, you should be receiving the form letter soon. The address in 800 and 900 Divisions is correct.

We have additional confusion since a mom with a recruit in Division 207 has received a form letter with a 06/27/2014 date and others with recruits in Divisions 207 and 208 have gotten form letters with a 06/20/2014 PIR date. I sure hope that the PAO updates http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/upcoming_grads.asp tomorrow with the divisions for at least the 06/20/2014 and 06/27/2014 TG's.

Son arrived at boot on the 12th. Anxiously awaiting that Form letter (no box - threw it all away - I hope!) July.... here we come!

My fiance' arrived May 12th. Still awaiting the form letter.

The form letter arrives an average of 10 days after the recruit arrived at the RTC. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC within Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).

Division 213. Wow I didn't even think it would be July 3rd would be his graduation. You say to never go by the recruiters address so I will just still wait on the letter.

Could someone with a recruit in a July TG check The Form Letter and let me know if that form letter is the same one you received? Thanks.

Lemonelephant, our letter does not have the sections about persons with disabilities and live streaming. Everything else looks the same.

MattsMom, that's strange that those sections are not on the form letter.

Anyone else, are those sections also not on your form letter?
