DEP-Leavin' for bootcamp in May

Check out https://www.facebook.com/NavyRecruitTrainingCommand. The PAO posts random photos randomly. The PAO does not usually identify the division/s photoed, so you have to look through all of them. There is no guarantee that your recruit will be photoed, but it is fun to look at the photos and get an idea of what is happening at the RTC.

Here are the current PIR groups for the May shippers:

PIR: 06/26/2015 TG 33 - 6 Divisions (219-222, 813 and 933) 4 guests

PIR: 07/02/2015 TG 34 - 9 Divisions (223-230 and 934) 4 guests Note: PIR is on Thursday.

PIR: 07/10/2015 TG 35 (to be updated; begins with Division 231 and contains Division 935)

Luvnailzzz, everything is fine. If it wasn't you would have received a call and that is not a call you want to receive. Remember, "No news is good news!"

Integrated divisions take longer to fill than all male divisions, so it may be longer than 10 days for those with a recruit in an integrated division. You won't know what is going on until your recruit is able to write a "real" letter or call. Again, all is well unless you hear it is not.

lemonelephant~~I understand no news is good news but I haven't received the form letter. Its been 13 days now :(

Luvnailzzz, 10 days after arrival is the average time to receive The Form Letter, meaning some will receive it before that and some after that. Most, but not all, have it by two weeks after arrival and the recruit will be out of P-days by then, which is why if it has been at least 2 calendar weeks since your recruit arrived at the RTC and you do not have a form letter, then you can call the recruiter and get the address and mail letters to your recruit, but be sure to double-check the address against those at http://bootcamp.navy.mil/contact_recruit.asp or Ship/Division--How it Works.

My son's "box" just arrived by Fedex, actually a big white envelope with only his electronics. Seeing his handwriting on the address, and his name on the back, of course sent me to tears!

I think it was best my son decided not to send anything home. I've had a hard enough time just walking past his empty room. Hang in there everyone! We are in this together and together we need to be strong for our incredible sons and daughters!

I have let ellen and FTLW knkow that form letters have been received for the 07/17/2015 PIR date. Keep checking PIR 07/17/2015 TG 36 and join when it is up.

For those who's sons/daughters who departed on 5/20 we received our form letter yesterday with an expected PIR date of 07/17/2015!!! Yeah!

jaysmom1995 it will get better. Our son departed only one week earlier and we just received his first form letter. What an exciting day! Who would have thought that receiving a good old fashioned letter could be so fun! I'll send you a friend request. I had a rough weekend but together we need to remain strong for our incredible sons/daughters!

My daughter shipped yesterday. I have been on this site all morning. It has helped a lot. I will look forward to her box and form letter. Thank you for your site and forum.

Ok, for mom swith SR PIR date of 7/2. has anyone stayed at the Ramada on Green Bay Rd? I see everyone is at the Navy Lodge and I just wanted to inquire. Thanks

Every commercial I see now is for the Navy! Just FYI for those of you who's PIR date is July 15 book your rooms as they're going fast! Hope to meet you all in July!

Have not rec'd my letter yet, but was thinking PIR would be on July 17th. Is there one on the 15th to? Or would that be the same?

Not a problem blackbelt1204, I was just hoping the 17th didn't get pushed back since we have Memorial Day and 4th of July during their time. I am so anxious to be able to see my son again.

Expect a roller coaster of emotions.  One minute you're so proud that you're on cloud 9, the next you're crying for no apparent reason - except for the fact that you miss her to pieces.  My baby girl left on May 5, we're almost halfway through, it is rough but it's getting easier every day.  I will reiterate the advice to write, she says it help so much.  Just write anything, they look forward to getting mail!  The hardest part is not knowing, so once you start getting mail and she is able to call - it gets better!  And oh, this site is wonderful - it makes the time go by so much faster and it is full of great advice!

Hello :)  Anyone here with a son/daughter that left on May 21st? 

I drove my sons truck today and thought I was going to have a breakdown. I had to pull over and just cry. I sure can't wait to hear from him. I must have sent him 8 letters already. He left on the 20 th and a PIR date of July 17 th.
