My son left for Great Lakes May 12, 2015. Projected graduation date July 10th. have received 2 phone calls. The "I am here" and a phone privilege given May 23rd. No letters yet.

Huggybear, thanks; that was my guess, but I needed someone to confirm it.

My boyfriend shipped out to bootcamp on the 27th and got there late that night. I've received his box, but I haven't received a form letter even though I heard people normally get it within a week. But it's almost been 2 weeks, and I'm afraid the navy lodge will fill up if I don't receive it soon. Is there a way I can get his ship/division/pir info? 

Is the Navy Lodge for family members too? 

Is it on the Great Lake Naval Station property?

MissingMyKing 3 - It is for family members... We have a reservation for PIR 7.17.15.  From what I have read before you can make a reservation there and then during PIR weekend you will want to have your SR go to the front desk to change the Reservation Name to their name... that way it is a Navy reservation.

Praying for you mztessa1!!

I finally got a call from my boyfriend three hours ago who's in Div 250! Of course, I cried like a baby... because they didn't cut our call to less than two minutes this time. He stayed on the phone for about 15 minutes (maybe 20 because we spent so much time refusing to hang up until the next person). He said that they weren't allowed to write letters for the past two Sundays but that he'd be able to write tomorrow! He sounded tired and sick, but he's staying strong. It just made my whole day because I'd felt so disconnected from him. He says he hasn't received my letters yet (although I sent them out about five days ago) but he was so happy to know I was writing because he was super jealous of the people who had gotten mail. Overall, I'm so relieved to finally hear from him after such a long period of silence! Can't wait for PIR!

So glad you got a call, it helps the heartache, I know.  I am sure looking forward to another one from my son!  When I talked to him last he hadn't gotten any mail yet and some of the other guys had.  I felt so bad.  Enjoy the great feeling from your call!! :-)

It's not too early to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month before Your Future Sailor Leaves for..., and to start discussing some of the things there with your future Sailor such as how to handle bad news and who will be put on the Access List....

If you have not yet joined Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones), now is a good time to do so and to begin checking out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) starting with OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile) (some of you have changes that you need to make--at least change 3; make change 4 if your profile pic includes your future Sailor) and then go on to Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

If you have a future Sailor who is going to be in an 800 division, let me know in a comment on my My Page or in a PM (or comment in a friend request) and I will connect you with others with loved ones who will later be in the same division. DON'T openly post your future Sailor's contract or division number. Those with a future Sailor (or recruit) in a regular division or 900 division can post the division number and can post the contracted rating or field unless it is for one of the Spook ratings, but those with a loved one with a special ops contract should NEVER post that openly.
