Same here, our son arrived at bootcamp December 4th and he has called 3 times now, not counting the "I'm here" call. One call was business though, so it only lasted a minute.

My son filled out his attendee list for the graduation on his form letter but instead of writing my name he wrote "mom" does anyone know if this will mess things up when I get there??

LOL I guess there will be alot of people named Mom at PIR. Mine wrote Mom, Dad & PawPaw. The only legal name he put was his brother

Thank you Lovemynavyson..... I'm hoping for a phone call tomorrow, would make it the best Christmas ever!!! This is my first Christmas all by myself as I had him when I was 19 it's always been us two together.
I'm sad my sons not here but so happy for the man he's becoming over there.
I wish all you ladies a happy Christmas Eve today :-)

Babblesnboyz, I agree while we're home missing them like crazy I like to think their having an exciting time meeting new friends and acting like sponges absorbing all the new information. I remember my son was excited and ready to hang with his new recruit friends at the airport while waiting to catch the flight to BC while I followed him around like a lost puppy wanting to spend every second with him LOL

Ugh...son left for BC on 12/10. Got my "I'm here, I'm ok" phone call. No form letter yet and no phone call. I've seen other mom's that had children leave then and have gotten either the letter, or the phone call...sometimes both. I'm not a really patient person and I want to talk to him so bad. I miss him so much. I am a very proud mama but it isn't getting easier!!

Hopefully your letter will be there today my son left Dec 11th and I just got the form letter on Saturday, I've heard the holiday mail can be slower to deliver in some areas but that doesn't make it any easier. I was checking the mailbox twice a day just in case, it can be nerve wrecking. I hope we all get a call today or tomorrow, I will keep my fingers crossed for you! It's definitely a process that tests our patience UHG

It definitely is a trying time. I have my moments of being ok and there are times that I just break down and cry. It is a bad roller coaster ride that I want to get off of. I thought if I stayed busy or spent extra time with my other 3 kids it wouldn't be so bad...that is not the case. I just think it is a little harder because of the holidays.

I'm sorry your going thru this, I have tried as well to keep busy, I seem better at work then I get home and it's hard again. I hope these holidays just hurry up and pass, I know my son was excited for the holidays apparently his Recruiter said they do something special for all of them on Christmas. I think I've texted his Recruiter 6 times since he's left and he keeps reminding me that they're in good hands and being well taken care of. I hope you have a very merry Christmas and that you get a call soon :-)

My son's PIR is 1/24, we've had two called, two Weekes in a row. But didn't get one for Christmas! Hangs in their Mamas and Oapas and spouses, it's getting a little easier.... I don't cry everyday! Letters mean the world to them, even had my younger son draw pictures!!!!

The default Privacy Setting on N4M is "Anyone." That means that ANYONE with access to the web has access to everything on your My Page. To change that, make change number 3 at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes to Your Profile), While you are there, read the Page and see if there are other changes you need to make.

Hello Everyone! My son left for boot camp December 12. I have received the from letter, a call and now my first letter. Anyone out there with a son/daughter with Ship 03 Div 086. My sons PIR date is February 7, and his A school training will be in San Antonio, Tx.
