and thanks for posting it m's mom!~
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

I posted it.  they sent it to me already.
  • LLovesmysailor

Please,  everyone keep up the good thoughts and prayer. Chris is in his townhouse in VA Beach and the weather is getting worse by the minute.
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

praying Lyn.  that is some serious weather happening in VA Beach.
  • m'smom

How is Chris this am?  Matt & Jess are fine-just no power.  They ended up going to Jess's Aunt's because they have a generator.  No damage at the apartment or the house.

    Hope all are safe.

  • m'smom

Sue where did you post the pic?

  • LLovesmysailor

I just heard from Chris and everything is fine. He even has power, which is good because, Chris on computer withdrawal could be ugly.
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

I posted it in the Marines CLB thread.  glad to hear that your children are safe.

I am happy my boy is here.

  • Maryellen

Well Im looking for a good yet inexpencive embroidery machine. Any one have any Ideas for this crazy lady.
  • LLovesmysailor

Definitely check e-bay for used machines. I bought both of my machines used and they were both a great deal. Now, I'm partial to Vikings. But the one piece of advice is decide on what software you want to run, then get the machine that will run it. Of course, if you get a Viking we can share some patterns. If you want to talk machines, give me a call.
  • Maryellen

Lyn I will call you tomorrow after I get back from the new ortho.

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

hope you get the shot today ME.  or a plan for your knee anyway.
  • Maryellen

Well I like the new ortho he is really nice and caring, he explained a lot more about what is going on with my knee and what could and could not be done. After a long time of talking we all agreed to try the shots and see if that works first before he goes in and does any kind of surgery. Today he drained my knee and got 10cc of fluid off of it and then gave me the first of 3 shots. I go back next Wend, for the 2nd shot. time to ice my knee then back to my school work.

  • m'smom

Glad to hear the new doc is better.  Hope he and the plan work out for you.
  • quiltblue

ME so happy that you got the fluid drained and got your shots. Does sound like you have a better doctor! Wow, just imagine having a Doctor talking and discussing with YOU about YOUR knee! Praise Jesus we still have private insurance and not socialized medicine!

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

sounds good ME.  I too may glad that he talked to you before rushing to "do" stuff.  didn't realize that fluid could be in a knee.  did that help?
  • Maryellen

Draining the fluid did help a little, am soar from the shot but I know thats a good soar. I am very happy with this guy, and his office. I think things will be better with him.
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

ME did the new ortho doc tell you to continue with the exercise program that you have been doing?  are you drinking lots of water?
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

I got this post from Florence alittle bit ago.  We have a special connection to Ft. Hood.

Sad news from Fort Hood.... a young mom from Fort Hood died in a head-on collision in Killeen. Her newborn baby (2 1/2 weeks old), who was also in the crash, is in the hospital. Grandma is on her way from NY and her husband is trying to get back from IRAQ. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. ♥

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

got this from my friend Pat this morning.  She gave permission for me to post his photo.

Will is home and is so happy. Thank
you again for all of your love, support, and prayers. He still has a
long journey ahead but we thank God for every day he is smiling.

  • Maryellen

These were made by the 16year old young lady that I am teaching how to sew. She has mastered the use of my serger and is doing fantastic. I thought I would brag a little on her and let you all see what she is doing. She has NEVER ran a sewing machine let alone a serger. She has made these pillowcases and more and then she has made 2 pillows and is working on a big pillow for her boyfriends brother who has downs syndrom it is his birthday on Sept. 17ths so she comes down everynight and works on stuff while I do my school work. Just so you know I very proud of her.

  • Paymaster

ME...You should be proud of her.  Its wonderful that she is learning to make gifts.  Homemade gifts are always the best as you know they come from the heart!
  • Maryellen

Paymaster, her mom and sister can't believe how good she is doing, her dad is going to buy her a machine for christmas and called to ask me what kind to get her. He family is greatful that she found something that she loves to do.

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

great looking pcs ME.  tell her "thanks"!

thanks for praying for everyone.  keeping Jennifer in prayer.

  • Maryellen

Sue does some of that Fabric look familar?

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

yes it sure does.  I thought that I had sent the state names and the pinwheels but then 2nd guessed myself haha.
  • Maryellen

Boy she is loving making the pillowcases and everything so the more she wants to learn the more I will teach her. I guess thats the gift God gave me is to teach.
  • quiltblue

Yay for ME! She is a teacher!!!  Yay for Emily, she is a seamstress! Yay for Heads at Ease!!!! Today is a GREAT DAY!
  • m'smom

Here's to hoping that today is a great day too.
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

it is fun to teach others something you love to do!  good going.  how is the shipping for this wave of marine pcs going m's mom?
  • quiltblue

Went to "Quilt Country" in Lewisville, TX again yesterday and the owner was there, she gave me another box of donated fabrics to make pcs!! They also make small quilts for the childrens hospital and had three that someone made, but hadn't put the binding on... so I will be doing that for them! I love helping!
  • m'smom

Mine are gone to the Marines.  I think we have one or two more to go out.
  • m'smom

Ok I have tried to upload a picture of my pc's.  I keep getting an error message.  Any ideas??

  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

m's mom, do you have internet explorer 8 on your computer?  If yes, that is probably the problem.  You can change browsers if you know how to do that.  That's what N4M advised me and I had no idea on  how to do that.  BUT I have since changed browsers and now I know how to do it haha.  You can email me the photos and I'll post them if nothing else.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of my 1st biological grandson's birth and passing.  (Big sigh).    so glad for a 3 day weekend.

  • m'smom

Thanks Sue! Tried firefox and was able to add the pics!
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

thanks Ally, I appreciate it.   And m's mom, glad that worked.  NING is supposed to get N4M compatible with it but guess not yet
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

Happy Labor Day ladies!  I had hoped to sew today, but didn't.  HOWEVER, I did cut out 2 aprons, 1 microwave potholder set, 1 microwave baking bag and 1 pillowcase!  whohoo.  Now to sew them haha.

Had a new sewer come this morning to get some fabric.  And it is always fun to meet someone new.

Thank you all for the remembering and the hugs!

    An American Hero
A hero is a Soldier, or Sailor that gives their life so freely for me.
A hero is a man or women who leave their family to protect total strangers
A hero gives up the time with his family to serve his country.
A hero is a man or women that keep us safe from terrorism.
A hero is a person who goes without to give us all our freedom.
A hero is a son, daughter, husband or wife of a family who waits for them patiently.
A hero is the man that gets spit on at the airport for fighting in a war for that person’s right to spit on him and curse him.
A hero goes day without food, sleep, or a shower.
A hero holds a child of war and cries as they think of his own children at home.
A hero is a wife who holds the families together at home and prays each day for the strength to get through one more day alone.
A hero is the Soldier or Sailor that comes home in a casket.
A hero never asks how long they will be gone they just go until it’s time to come home.
A Hero to me is Our Military Men and Women that give me the rights that so many take for granted.
God Bless the Men and Women of the United States of America’s Military.

Well I had shot number 2 today and I am a little soar, still not much relief but I am trying to stay positive. The doctor did not have to take an fluid off this week and he said thats a good sign. I am still working on my weight and trying to get to the pool as often as I can. If it would quit raining every afternoon I would be in great shape. I have finals next week and then off from school till Oct. 3rd so Miss Emily and I will be sewing and stashing while I am off. Well thank you all for the prayers and I will try and not be gone so much. God Bless You All.

Welcome to all the newbees and I am glad you all are here.

  • NitaSewBee

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't  been in here lately. Sue. Prayers for your family as you pass the anniversary..It  hardly seems possible...just like it seems strange that my mom will be gone a year next month. love and God's comforting arms around you, Ray, Jazz and Ben
  • LLovesmysailor

Sorry I haven't been on much. My back has managed to go out for absolutely no reason. I can't spend too much time sitting at the computer or sewing machine. So, I've been saving that time too sew.
  • Sue-Pillowcase lady

Sorry to hear about your back Lyn.  ME, sounds like you've had alittle relief.  send that rain my way-still over 100 here and dry.

Nita, those 1 year anniversaries are hard.  praying for you all.

I got this news from Terry alittle while ago and she asked me to post it:

Yes, Sue, I mailed 30 pcs.  How are you doing?  Jennifer has been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and her oxygen goes down to 50% sometimes during the day.  She goes to the Pulmonologist tomorrow, to find out if she has lung cancer as well.  She finally got a port put in.  Her birthday is on Tuesday the 13th if you want to send her a card.  She goes for Chemo again tomorrow, and she keeps passing out, and the doctors have not figured out why yet.  But she is home again, just got out of the hospital again on Tuesday.  She needs alot of prayer.  T

off to bed. opened the CARE part this morning at 6:30 am and will do it again tomorrow.  so I am sleepy.  haha

  • quiltblue
