Just to let everyone know, i had surgery on my left hand on the 10th. i am doing good and the 23rd i go to get the stitches out and hopefully a smaller brace for my thumb. they cleaned out the joint and rebuilt it so it wont be so painful. God has blessed me with good friends and a awesome husband to help me.

glad to hear that you are healing up good Maryellen!  pretty good typing for 1 hand.

yep, i can do a lot with one hand. you never know how important both your hands are till your missing one. lol

I have 15 pcs to add to the Command Staff. Looks like I will be able to mail in the 2nd or the 3rd wave. Do we have dates for those mailings?

New numbers posted as wave 1 for the NY is finished.

We need 394 pillowcases to complete the USS New York in 2 waves!  Do you have any made that you can send in wave 2?

I have 20 completed and maybe can get a few done done. Is 5/11-5/14 the second wave? Also, do I send them to the same address to the USS New York.? Please let me know.

That is great and thank you.  Yes, the same address.  Next week is the 2nd wave and we are going to be able to get the ship done in 2 waves!  WOOHOO!  I love it.

FINALLY!!!!! School is done for me! It was a long, hard, exhausting week of cleaning out, putting away, working grad night until midnight after a full day's shift but I have survived. 
I'm sick and exhausted but I survived! Now for some "Sue" time and rest this weekend which is very needed! Off on an adventure with a good friend of mine this morning!

The New York is finished and I  have posted the new numbers.

Thanks!!  I just need some rest and a change of pace.  Fabric shopped with a friend today and then we went for coffee and chatted for a couple of hours.  Came home and took a nap!

Look who came to visit me at work yesterday!!!  Was so nice to finally meet Sue and her husband!!!  They happened to be here for grand-son's wedding, so glad you stopped by!!

It was so much fun to meet Sandy!  I have only met in person a couple of Navy moms over the years!  She was so kind to wait for me.  I got a smart phone for the 1st time and did'n't quite know how to use the map, but we found her!  A brief visit, but it is priceless.  Thanks for posting the photo Sandy.  She had a special lunch date that day with her boys 1 of whom is her sailor.

Thanks mommamac!!!   My son got it for me when he ordered the pictures from boot camp.  He knew I would like it and he's right!!!

mrsb, I have the same frame (as you can see lol). My son sent it with his pictures from bc too. It's so nice when our sailors give us such special gifts right?

I got confirmation tonight of a new ship!  So get those machine running again, break is over haha.  I'm awake now after finishing off a very busy school year and a over the top last week!

Happy Thursday!  I survived my 1st VBS craft night!  I mad 8 aprons for my crew this week-all horse related as we have a western theme this year.  We do VBS on Wed night thru the summer.  I have 5 nights for craft. 

We made rope!  It was fun!  Happy day!

Hello!  I have a question about sergers.  I had asked Sue about them and was wondering if any of you use them.  I really like the look of the enclosed seam but am would like to know how it looks if it's serged.  I have never used one before but thought it might save time.  If anyone could enlighten me I would appreciate it!  Thanks!

Thanks Mary Ellen!!  I may have to look into one.  I have yet to figure out how to use my embroidery machine, perhaps today I can play around with it!

I am back from my travels!  On the flight out of Milw, the captain announced that we had a special group traveling with us.  They were new recruits, Army, I think on their way to boot camp.  I am happy to report that the plane gave them a rousting applause.
