Sailors attending A School in Meridian, Mississippi

I finally heard from Jas, said that he has been really busy!! I am so glad tht you now have a grad date. That has been a long time in coming for Mitch!! I asked about the ball and I got I don't think I'm going. Told him to go it will be fun!
Hope that the Navy has taught him plumbing skills!!!

Mine got verbal orders for PA when he is done. Think he wanted warmer weather
but seems to be ok with it so far!! How is everyone survivng the snow out east?? Hope everyone is ok! Mimi did Mitch say how the ball was?? Hope he got the great flood cleaned up!! :)

I just heard from Jason he was done with classes yesterday too. Same thing as
Hans PFM on Monday grad on Wed. Does anyone know if there is a grad. ceremony?? Jason's orders cahnged he is headed to Lemoore NAS instead of PA. How long after graduation before they can come home??? Kim want me to pick you up on my way down to Meridian for grad??:)Jason is an SK I am wondereing if the graduate everyone together?? Japan is so far away, think of the wonderful things he will see, I m jealous.

Did yours just stay at Meridian for the 3 weeks before he got to come home??
Where is he now??? I am wondering how soon before they know if they get leave after grad??? Glad yours will be starting classes!

I wish I was going to grad even if it is a litttle ceremony. I will wear my Navy
shirt to work and support him that way!!! Will see what my boss says when
I waer it, not very supportive of the military at work!!! They denied an army
time off to go see her son graduate medic school!! Shes going any way...GOOD FOR HER!!! Thanks Mimi for the info bout the web site I will check into that. wrong!! Put his name as the boy next to him and that kid is now him!! :) Guess
I now have 2 sailors. My husband said what happens if God forbid he gets hurt
will they get his name right????? I never thought bout that!! :)

Well its official Jason got written orders for Lemoore!! He is happy . ok Peggy give me your story I am dying to hear it now!!! I have been wearing a red shirt since Jas has been in BC had read that when I first got on N4M's. I have about 20% of my co-workers doing it now too!! :) One Friday I didn't wear red and THEY
were giving me grief bout not wearing red. Angelika I got the chills when I read what you put on the sign that is AWESOME !! I am proud of all our service men
and women and I will support them any way I can!!!

Mimi, We are sucking up the field lately fer sure!! Its only spring training
after all... :) I called my daughter at school one day during the Cubs-Sox
series and I hear all this screaming. I said what the heck is going on, The
whole floor was in her dorm room watchin the game and the sox jsut scored. BOO! I We ahve 4 tickets for July 28th if your up this way c'mon with!!!

I had the sign up when Jas got home from BC for the day!!! All the neighbors
who didn't know he was in the Navy sure knew then!! :) Some called to say
wow that was a fast 9 weeks. I told them yeah for you, not for me or Jason!!!
Will hopefully have up again soon... looking forward to him coming home before he ships to Ca I can't wait!!!

Jason is on his way home tomorrow. YAY!!! I am surprised he is leaving Meridian already. Home for 14 days before shipping to Lemoore. I am sad in a way he is leaving Meridian.. I love this group such a source of knowledge you all are!!! Everyone has been so helpful. Couldn't have made it thru without you guys!!!! Prayers for a safe trip for all the Sailors traveling tomorrow!!!

Us sick Cub fans have to stick together!!! I plan on staying in this group just to
see what trouble is going on in Meridian. Jas told meI am on a need to basis
about Meridian!!! :) When he went outside last night at the airport he said "its
frickin clod here!!! " I said welcome to Chicago!! He looks good and is glad
to be home despite the cold weather. They have to buy their patches????

Oh yeah, Jason is surprised that I am so up on the Navy. I told him us Navy

CONGRATS to all the sailors graduating tomorrow!! Its hard to believe that a week has gone bye already!!! Last Tues. nite I was awaiting my sailor to graduate and come home. How come when they're home time goes so quick?? :) BC didn't go this quick!! Hope everyone is well!!

Kendra my son is an SK also and he finished in 16 days. It is self taught
so I guess its up to them how fast they finish!! :) Said that one sailor finished
in 10 !! SK'S seem to be the fastest ones out of Meridian. All the best to your boyfriend!

Welcome back Mimi!!! :) I am sad as we have just came home from the airport
dropping Jas off!! :( Hes on his way to his Navy career. It was really hard for
me to let go, knowing it will probably be awhile before we see him again.
Hope all sailors are ok in Meridian saw that had some bad weather there.

Marth Lynn what is your son going to Meridian for as his job?? Don't feel bad about bothering people thats why we have this wonderful place to come to!!! :)

Kim I am so glad Hans has arrived safely!!! How lucky he is to have a sponser to

What is his job??? SK's or storekeepers are self taught. That is what my son is
I am not sure about other jobs.

Does everyone have a sponser while they are at thie new duty station?? My son
is having a hard time adjusting, didn't metion a sponser.

SK classes are self taught so its up to your sailor how long he will be in Meridian. Mine finished quickly.

Peggy that justs makes no sense!!! I would be mad too!!

Patti YAY for Elliot!!! Mine didn't mind Meridian to much at least there were kids his own age there!! I don't get how the Navy can run out of sheets just as bad as not working out transportation for them. It all makes no sense to me. My son had to take a cab from the airport to his duty station 45 miles away. Cost him over 100 dollars, said he will be reimbursed..... I wonder???

Hey Perri that is great news about Bob! Seems like he has come along way in the short time he has been there. Remember how nervous he was when he first got there?? :) A fight or something right?? My son was there and gone in 4 weeks. He's an SK now stationed at Lemoore NAS in Ca. It is possible to get
thru Meridian fast if your sailor is in a self paced class there. Few tips for you guys who sailors are just getting there. When my son was there they could not leave the base alone, buddy system which I thought was a great idea!! If they
do call for a cab they should allow plenty of time for it to arrived to get them back to the base, sometimes the cabbies like to try and make them late.
The best cell phone reception is at the smoke pit. Your sailor will know where that is. :) Lastly there is no point in overnighting anything. USP will not overnight
anything to a base so save your money and 2 day any package. Small boxes
seem to get there quicker that a letter so no matter how small the box send a box!! Hope this has been some help. congrats to all who have PIR-ed or will be soon. Hope someones sailor might be with mine in Lemoore!

Hello all, my son just got to A school, he called last night and was getting settled! Says his group has to stay the whole 60 days!

Does anyone know what kind of Food we can send the boys? He wasn't sure?

I don't know about the Internet, but would like to, my son has been there since last Tuesday, He was able to call from his calling card and let us know he got there, but we haven't heard from him since, we mailed his phone to him on Wed!!!

Oh, and they flew him down! Through Atlanta! LOL

Does your son know you sent him the cel?There is an office that gets all the correspondence and packages (as I learned)they make a list of sailors that have mail,they are supose to check on the list.The office is close on weekends.

Yes he does, but don't know if he knows about the office list, or that they are closed on week-ends, thanks for the information!!

LOL And Mary Ann, I think it depends on what they are schooling for, my son said he will be there the whole 60 days while others will finish way before him, hope that helps! Have a good day!
