Postive Prayers to you and your Daughter....
I was reading earlier that one of the other girls was having to redo her run and
another recuirt ran with her.....I hope someone will support her too.....
    Postive Postive Postive!!!!!!
  • Traci (Perry's wife Nuke EM)

Now I'm nervous. Perry has been so sick. I really hope he's going to be okay. No news is good news...no news is good news...no news is good news...
    Right?
    Soooo nervous.
  • Gloria (Ship 04 Div 192)

Traci, I'm with you. Joshua hasn't said much about being sick, but the night he called us due to his grandmother's death, he was coughing something awful. But still, he wanted to get back with his group to practice marching. So I hope and pray every day that he and the rest of our division is feeling better. Good to hear from Beatrizm that it sounds like they are still doing awesome. Weird how last week I stared at the phone and willed it to ring and this week I'm begging it to please not ring.
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Tammysue, my prayers go out to your daughter. If she is in 192, my daughter will probably do the run with her as she did earlier this week for another girl in 192 who was having trouble passing. I wish I would have know this last night when I got a 5 min call from Jess. I would have told her to seek her out and give her support through this. Just keep thinking positive thoughts. Maybe if she gets some good rest this weekend, she will be ready to go on Monday. Here is a big N4M hug for you.
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Gloriar, I am with you on no calls. My heart almost stopped last night when I saw the area code and it was Jess. Thank goodness it was only to ask me to ship her some female necessities (hair straightener, eye liner and mascara) that the RDC said she could have mailed to her. At least in her last letter she said that she was finally over her cold that lasted about 6 weeks. She could only talk for a few because another div was leaving for battlestations and I could hear in the background their singing cadence and it was loud.

Lets all say an extra special prayer this weekend for Tammysue's daughter. Maybe if we all pray she will get through her run on Monday. KEEP THOSE FINGERS CROSS AND THINK POSITIVE!!!
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

My heartfelt prayers and thoughts are with you TammySue... I pray your daughter can finish with the division. What a shame she's so sick. I'm with the rest of you in stating that RTC does not have an effective way of containing these sicknesses. Every week it seems one or more recruits are sick.

Perry will be fine, Traci... and keep on thinking no news is good news. Our recruits only have to get thru a few more days... as do us! Tuesday's calls can't come fast enough....then we'll all be able to breathe a sigh of relief!
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Tammy if she was just minutes off, then this weekends rest will get her strong enough to try again on Monday. I do know that the Navy employs some of the best physicians on the planet so they will give her what she needs. I hope they can give her an IV treatment because that works much faster. I work in the health field and have know many excellent Navy physicians. Just keep thinking positive, positive, positive. And remember, if you get no more calls until after battlestations, all went well.

GOD BLESS AND HERE IS ANOTHER BIG HUGE N4M HUG FOR YOU!!!
  • Tamijzr07

Tammy, my thoughts are with you and your daughter. I hope she gets well soon and you get your call.
  • sjb1107

TammySue, I'm sending BIG HUGE prayers up for your daughter and so are several folks who are in my office and became heard about her situiation as well. We are all behind you and I know I speak for everyone when I say that we would love to help in person, just can't. So take this cyber-hug from all of us and know that we are all pulling for her. I'm certain that anyone who reads this, then receives their "I'm a sailor" call will pass on to their sailor that she needs their support.
  • grumsmom

Tammy Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter, it's really tough not being able to grab them in our arms and take care of them. I will keep you and her in my prayers. She's a tough girl if she's made it this far, just hang onto that. She'll do great.
  • lovemysailor (ship 14 div 190)

  • Sara

Today is a GOOD day. He called!!! Said he had a four hour watch yesterday so he couldn't call when everyone else did. Sounded real good. Said battlestations was a trip, but that they can't discuss it. He also said since he's grad and go he's just going to stay on base after PIR. They found a place with a tv that he can watch NASCAR qualifying for the afternoon. He will be in heaven being able to see racing of any kind. Said he could have talked longer but there were other guys who haven't gotten to call home yet so he said goodbye. How considerate Thanks to all for the support. I would have gone nuts without you guys to keep me calm.
  • momof8

Tammy Sue~ A quick story to encourage you...when I met some N4M's here a few weeks ago, I heard the coolest story about a gal's daughter who was consistently 2 minutes short of the required time on the run. She failed the end-of-week run (by 2 minutes) and they decided to let her try again on Monday because they saw persistence in her. On that Monday, one of her RDC's ran the whole race with her, encouraging her and pacing her. When they were close to the finish, he thought she had it so he ran ahead. Then, as she approached the finish he could see she had slowed and was in danger of not making time. He sprinted out to her and got her to pick it up the rest of the way and she made it by seconds!
I know your daughter is sick, but a few days rest may be just enough to give her those seconds and we'll pray that she has an RDC like that!
  • Traci (Perry's wife Nuke EM)

Sara! I'm so happy for you! I was so worried about you yesterday! Yay! You have a happy Sailor! Congratulations :)
  • JasonM'sGirl (Ship 14 Div 189)

I will be praying and thinking of you both as well. She is strong and will make it through this! Please please please keep us updated!
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Afternoon ladies. Our SR's and competing in the Captain's Cup right now. How exciting. I am told that it is like the olympics with each division competing against one another in events that pertain to their training. My daughter said she is doing a fire fighting competition. Good thing she has been a v olunteer firefighter for about 2 years. I hope they all have a great time competing.

Tammysue, I had a dream last night that your daughter ran on Monday, passed and did an excellent job in battlestations. I will keep praying for quick recovery.
  • grumsmom

I had no idea what the captain's cup was when my son was talking about it. I'm glad to know now, I'm sure they will all do great.
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

Thank you Jess's Mom for the update. I hope they get the Capt.'s Cup. Hey, dreams are a powerful phenomenon....TammySue, your daughter is going to do great. "We shall overcome"... powerful phrase. With her division behind her and all the prayers, she will succeed. We will all be running with her on Monday and supporting her to the finish line... she will gather strength from above thru all our love and support and prayers... please keep us updated... can't wait to celebrate her success too... Hoo..rah!!!
  • lovemysailor (ship 14 div 190)

mikesproudmom, thats cool that u got to talk to him on the comp!! :)
almost at five days !!! cant wait
  • Cornerstone Mom

I will keep Bailey in my prayers also, TammySue.
  • Jeannie (ET)

Maggie - where did you get the information about captains cup? Sounds like it was a good day for all them. My son has battlestations on Tuesday can't wait for next Friday to get here.
  • grumsmom

How great for your guys in recruit heaven, Taco Bell how did they swing that? I so hope my son and his division have gotten some kind of reward today but I doubt it. Those boys have not been able to catch a break yet. Just five more days is right.
Tammysue, I'm glad you got to talk to you daughter today. Hopefully she is getting some much needed rest.
  • Jeannie (ET)

Maggie, Thanks for the information - I signed on to navy for dads. No pictures yet.
  • ProudNavySister(USS Sterett)

Last night about 7pm EST I got a Facebook status texted to my cell phone that said "Timmy B Hey Everyone how are yall? I'm Good getting ready to graduate on friday. just want to say hey lol" I about had a heart attack! I quickly responded with a "How are you on here?" then I called my sister and my mother and told them that he was on there! Thank God for facebook apps on cell phones! I would have cried if I had missed that time with him! Then he posted "ok I have 3 minutes left on here so i'm about to start calling people lol." It was so awesome getting to call my mom to tell her he was about to start calling her! Then he called me for the first time since he has gotten there! It was the best 5 minutes and 22 seconds EVER! Said that DIV 194 will be doing Battle Station on Tuesday calling Wed or Thurs. Good luck to anyone that is having BS this week! Can't wait for my mom to get her "I'm a sailor" call :)
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Good morning Ladies.....Less than a week to go. No bad news call for me this weekend. Everytime my cell rang I got nervous. I know that any call I get before Tuesday may not be good news. I am assuming 192 did great on test 3 and final inspections because no one posted bad news. Congrats to the divisions that did great in the captains cup. You should all be proud on your SRs. I am flying out in 4 day and can't wait to meet all you wonderful ladies who helped me through this life changing event!!!!! I am looking forward to matching faces with our conversations.

Tammysue....One more day for Baily to recouperate. I will be running with in spirit.
  • Jeannie (ET)

Wonder when those pics are going to show up??? To my3sons - I know 193 goes to BS on Tuesday - do you know when they go thru the gas chamber? Also have to talked to you son on the phone and have any details about how their division is doing? My sons is married so calls go to his wife - I have not talked to him at all since he left. Very interested in any information about his division.
  • Tamijzr07

Tammysue, I'll keep you and your daughter in my thoughts and I wish her best of luck for Monday. Sending you a smile :) and a N4M hug. Take care
  • Jeannie (ET)

Thank you for the information my3sons. I have had 2 letters and an M-day card from my son and he only talks in general terms like they march a lot or he is getting good at ironing and shoe polishing. I won't get the call after battlestations - I'm sure that will go to his wife. Let me know when you hear as that will tell me when it is over so I can call my daughter-in-law to see if she heard anything.. What is E-3 collar devices? Do they all get them? I'm not getting the info I would like either - but any communication is welcome to me. I know my son asked that his laptop be brought to PIR so I am guessing he will have internet after bootcamp. So glad for that - instant communication is so much better.
  • ProudNavySister(USS Sterett)

I was wondering if anyone is flying into O'hare Airport on Thursday. My flight comes in at 5:10pm on Thursday and I will be traveling alone. I'm trying to get my mother and step father to pick me up from the airport but so far they are saying no! I'm going to be taking a shuttle if they don't come and get me and I was just wondering it anyone else maybe taking one too around the same time so I don't feel alone :)
  • Jess's Mom (Fire Controlman GL)

Roni Rose, I am so sorry but we land at 12 noon or else I would take you. Keep asking, I am sure that someone will be landing around that time.
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

sorry Roni Rose... our flight gets in at 11 am. I am sure someone will be arriving around your time.
  • Patty_CDS

927 preformed this last Friday and they did great. We got a 2o minute phone call satuday that was heaven to talk to our son. He says that they are all done with testing, except that they go to Battlestations Monday at 8pm. They were able to go to Recruit heaven and use the phone, computer and have Taco Bell. Just a few more days,,,,
  • cmom-Ship04-Div812

    TammySue,
Praying for your daughter!!! She is going to do a great job. No worries.
    Steph ;-)
  • ProudNavySister(USS Sterett)

Thanks ladies! I'll keep checking to see if anyone else is. I just dont want to be riding alone :)
  • Heartluvin

Jeannie, here is some more information for you. I don't know it all but this is what I know. Your son will recieve his rank depending on the his grades if he was in college at all, my son was in running start so he had some college credit that helped him to go in as an E-2. Then their ASVAB scores. The collar devices that they receive are what they have earned.. My son will be getting a collor device for E-5 since he was squad leader, but that is not going to be his rate. He will be E-3 until he earns that rate.. They go through the same process when they become enlisted. It will take him the minimum amount of time 9 months to advance to the next pay rate of E-4. That makes him a Seaman and no longer an apprentice Yes he will have internet and they will have their cell phones. Once they get to "A" school it should be the life of a College student. They will be studying like in school, so they will have the time after classes to do what they need to do. Then when they get their duty stations it will be life as normal as it can be for them. They are working and have time off scheduled. Hope this helps some.
  • Heartluvin

Hope some of that made sense, I was talking to a friend while I was typing and missed some. I have my sons DEPS book so I am getting the information from that and also what he has been telling me....
  • Jeannie (ET)

Heartluvin - thank you so much. That helped alot. My son has a college degree so I think that probably helped his rank from what you say. I know he asked for his laptop so I figured they would have internet - so glad for that. He does not have a cell phone but, I will see if he wants one off my plan. Again thank you for the information - I am getting excited about going up to PIR. I'm sure this week will go fast.
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

TammySue, I have been thinking of your daughter all morning. We are all pulling for her...so glad to hear that you were able to talk to her yesterday. Please let us know as soon as you hear...Prayers are with you....and her this day....

  • T's mom

I'm still not sure how he is getting these calls....
    the Up are worth sharing!!!!
  • beatrizm (Ship04 Div192)

milesproudmom, how lucky...catting on Facebook! How did he manage that?
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

Anybody from 192 get a phone call yet?
  • Traci (Perry's wife Nuke EM)

Nope. I have a feeling we won't hear from them until tomorrow. While all the other divisions have seemed to get phone calls more often, we've only gotten the one on April 19th, so at this point I just assume we'll only get the call tomorrow. I can't wait though!!!! No news is good news!
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

    Hi Traci,
I was hoping that the info we received last week that they would be able to call us before BS today would be accurate. :-( But you are right.. no news is good news!!
  • Traci (Perry's wife Nuke EM)

I cannot wait to meet all of you Div 192 moms! (and all of you 5/21 pir moms for that matter). Without all of you I don't even know how I would have handled these 8 weeks. The meet and greet is going to be great. I'm really looking forward to it. Was somebody making ribbons for the meet and greet? I'd really love one if it isn't too late.
Let's get packing ladies! We're only a few days away! My mother and I are driving up and are leaving early Wednesday morning. I'm so ready!
Prayers and good thoughts are going out to all the recruits going through battlestations tonight!
  • momof5 (Ship 04 Div 192)

    My stomach is in knots........
  • NavyStarMom

I am so excited, that I am not sleeping. I have not heard from Danielle since I received the letter written on Mother's Day. But No news is Good news. Can't wait to hug my kido!
  • Gloria (Ship 04 Div 192)

So glad to hear from some of division 192 family. I was beginning to think we had fallen off the face of the earth. I'm wondering why ours don't get phone or taco bell (that became Joshua's favorite fast food before he left) or facebook privileges. Our RDC must believe they have to limit that stuff to make them stong. Momof5, my stomach is bothering me too. Hope it's just nerves which will go away tomorrow!!!
  • Traci (Perry's wife Nuke EM)

momof5 - we're so close! just breathe deep and stay busy. in a few days, this whole experience will just be a memory.
NavyStarMom - I've tossed and turned the last three nights as well. So anxious! Do I understand correctly that you're a Traci too?? I've never met another Traci with an i before! You can understand my pain of always having my name spelled incorrectly and never finding anything with it spelled our unique way.
