i like the group idea

Becky - you just must not leave here! Okay so you dont have to post every single hour okay!!! I like Craigs idea..... how bout a new group or just rename this one... I think it should be Craig and friends! hahahahah I m busy too with other sights but really yall this is where we all began.... who really wants to leave and why???

okay - now Im crying cause everyone wants to go away.... fine - but this is where we started....... Ill be here each day unless yall want to change the name -- Ill be here...........................

Hi Everyone,
Sorry haven't been on much lately, I came back from PIR bring one of their colds with me and have been knocked on my butt for days.

Craig, LOVE the idea of a new group and also love the Chicken Soup idea for a name. If our site gets closed down, we just need to add a number to it so we can regroup again and maybe just maybe try and behave ourselves (nah that would be no fun).

Dave, where did you order those beautiful flowers from that can be delivered to a base? My daughters birthday is in a few weeks and I would love to send her flowers. Got her a nex giftcard with our picture together on it, and purchased a PS coin for her, but would love to send her some flowers.

How has everyone been? Hearing more often from our loved ones? I know that I have been fortunate to catch my daughter on facebook almost daily. She should receive her own laptop tomorrow that I sent federal express, but she has been able to sign up for computer time in the liberty building on the base.

I am talking with other groups getting ready to graduate, and boy do I feel their pain. I know for a fact that without this site, the men carrying the white jacket with shiney silver buckles would have been on their way to come and take me away. You all are amazing!!!

Mary, I won't comment on where and how I got them yet. I will wait until tomorrow or the next day. I'm waiting because there are a few diff ways all this could turn out. Thanks to Craig on his help earlier. Once it all happens I will post my story what happened and how she got them. Don't wanna list anything until I see how good or ok my experience with the company is or if there is any issue at the base.
If it's all good I will post company, phone number I called, what I said the situation was to the person on the phone and the info I gave to them about her.
Kinda nervous wondering exactly how she will get them tomorrow. Will post here as soon after it's over.
Also having a special agent coming over to ask me questions about her too. I'm sure it will be ok, but still nervous about that too.
Prob gonna be a doughball or nerves till after the agent leaves and after she gets the flowers and calls me.

Oh yeah and Craig I told the woman on the phone what to write on the card and I ended it saying your ... Told her the pet name my girl calls me. She laughed. I said I'm sure u have heard much weirder stuff and she laughed like oh yeah. Had to spell it out for her since it's a madeup word. She laughed again after I spelled it when she realized exactly what it was. It could sound dirty to someone who doesn't know how she came up with it.

She just posted on her facebook how could she be happy on her birthday, she is spending it alone.
Sucks reading that. Wish I could be with her so bad. I really hope the flowers get to her ok and they cheer her up a bit. Doesn't compare to me being there but it's better than nothing I guess.

PeggyM - I absolutely love the name USS Chicken Ship.... Man that is sooo funny.

Lydia et al - I too would love to see the 9/2 section stay alive. However, I know it won't. Much like our sailors, their highschool friends will slowly drift away, while they take in new friends at each command their at. It's part of life to grow with the group you're friends with. With renaming this section, I don't think we should. We should let it die with the glory it has.

What we as a group need to do is set the way the new group will run, and that is being our normal rowdy selves. We will slowly start adopting lots of other parents, spouses, BF, & GF along the way (maybe even a couple Dave's now and then).... With the new group, once people know that we will help and give advice to their problems and we have fun too, then we will slowly build a really tight group. We will laugh, cry, pray, scream & shout together. Heck, we might even form "hit-squads" to take out people we don't like ~ha (jhenderson you have 1st dibs on who we take out).... j/k

The bottomline is I would like to see our present group of members survive, but welcome others like us. Again, I'm just a member of this group just like everyone else. But my enjoyment is getting people involved with the Navy and helping people understand it.

Playin the waiting game to find out if she gets the flowers ok. Kinda nervous as idk with 100% certainty how exactly she will get them and what will happen as they come to the gate and what not. Anyone here know what time flowers are usually delivered? Id imagine it may be afternoon or so myself. She not out of class till 3p my time I believe. Will be all over my phone after 3pm waiting for a call. I may call the flower place early to see if it was delivered ok. They did say they would call me if there was a problem and they gave the florist and the delivery person special instructions.

I'll start up the new area tonight. Since I need to go to work, can someone think of a good blurb we can say for what the purpose the group is.

I bet alot of people will misspell the name, Chicken Ship....ha...... This group will be soooo short lived.... but heck, this will be like battlestations for the mods and the admins.... "catch me if you can"....

THIS WAS A QUESTION I SAW ON ANOTHER SITE BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE ANSWER. my son said he was close to phase 2 but someone in his ship came back from liberty really drunk and now he thinks pahse 2 is farther away then originally planned

Terri - wooow are your son and mine in the same boat (no pun intended) A "senior" guy did something really STUPID my son said and they got beat down for it and he also is now a week or so from Phase 2 he said. However I know that it also depends on them individually too. Passing various inspections etc. according to my son.

All,

The 7/23 PIR group created a new group following PIR, with a new name, and it is still active. Not as active as it was before PIR, of course, but it's still a group for all to follow if they wish. Could do the same here, though it won't be the same, but that's OK. Whoever wants to keep active can do so.

(This was my son's original PIR date, so, of course, one of my groups.)

Michimom - any news yet on him or still on hold? How are his spirits

Lydia, still no word on when he's moving on, but his spirits seem pretty good since he's phased up and has more liberty. That helps a little.

Lydia-I know. I really didnt think they phased up so quickly. anyway he had 2 classes about finances and got 100 on the test and got a college credit for it. HOOYAH

lol sorry. Im typing my reply now. Gonna tell the story and everything. Not only did she get them but they were in her room. I told the florist her barracks and room number. She said she went in on her lunch break and they were in her room. She was so happy. Said it was the best bday ever, which means a lot considering how sad she was she was spending it alone.

Anyone who wants to send flowers look out and save my next post, I will give all the details. It couldn't have went any better. Well better would have been if they gave it to her during class in front of everyone but lol i knew that wouldn't happen. Its the second best option though.

She said she would take a pic of them when she can so I can see how they look. Said she was gonna try to bring a rose to class.
