Pink - when are you arriving?

lol, you never know! I love parties!! :) I thought it looked like an awesome hotel! I can't tell you how excited I am to meet you in person! Now I just pray Curtis passes everything and gets to PIR on the 15th! If I have to change it I'll be SO disappointed. I know he will be too, but right now it's all about ME! :)

I'm getting there on Thursday. I wish I had more time, but I just got back to work after being off for 10 months with a back issue. It's resolved now, thankfully! But I only went back to work full time on July 26. I don't want to push my luck...

I'm staying thru the 18th too!

Does anyone know what the weather is like in Great Lakes during Oct? I'm coming in from Texas and it's still hot here during that time

DanaMN and Pink Helmet, we are staying literally one minute from you. We're staying at the Candlewood Suites on Waukegan Rd. right down the road. I used Mapquest and it said we were one minute from each other. We are arriving Oct. 11th at night and staying until the 16th.

I hope it's cool when we get there. The heat in AZ is a killer. I so look forward to cooler temps and changing leaves!!!!

winniesam - woohoo! You're staying close to us!! I think we can do ONE minute!! It should be cooler than AZ! But I know they've had a very warm summer. Hopefully fall will come in nicely this year... that's what my family hopes for anyway! They live in a south suburb of Chicago.

Dillon's Mom you are only 2 miles from our location. It's not that far. We'll work it out don't worry!!!!:)

Pink... I know... I'll be sad if my boy gets set back for any reason, too! But don't worry about what hasn't happened... because it likely won't!!!

Hi Victoria! Yay! You got the box. If your man wears glasses he had to keep them until they issued him the "fancy" Navy ones. That's why his glasses aren't in the box. My son wears glasses and he kept them. I'm sure your letter is coming... probably today!

How are your plans coming for attending PIR? Have you been able to decide what to do?

Made reservations last night at the Residence Inn Waukegan (Marriot) has real good reviews booked a two bedroom suite, kitchen two bathrooms, sofabed for 159 night. $3 shuttle to RTC

merchantvillesteveship - Yeah... I thought about that place as well... it looks like a great place to stay. The shuttle will be awesome! I'm thinking we might have to catch a cab for PIR... since from what I've read the lines of cars getting onto and off base are pretty bad.

Victoria- oh good!!! I'm glad you got some plans in the works! The "official" Meet & Greet is at the Ramada and anyone can go - it's for anyone attending PIR so you don't have to be staying there.

Yay! Just looked on the RTC website and confirmed that my husband's PIR will be 10/15!! Now I can start making reservations and planning the trip out to Illinois!!

Hot Dog....I am in the right group and my baby is only there for 7 weeks!!! Now C'mon form letter.....

Hopefully the form letter will be here sometime today or in the next few days. It was supposedly already sent out from what my husband said. I suppose we'll just be waiting by the mail box for the next couple of days:)

I just called SpringHill Suites and they do have a Shuttle for PIR - it's contracted through another company. It leaves at 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM the morning of graduation and costs $3 each way so $6 round trip. I read many reviews on Trip Advisor and almost all LOVED it there. They said the free breakfast was great - cook your own waffles, eggs, sausage, fruit, bagels, etc. There is a Super Wal-Mart very close as well so if you want snacks you can get them there. It's 5.6 miles from RTC.

I think he will be 10/15 Victoria... if he'd gotten there on 10/25... I wouldn't feel so certain.

We'll keep our fingers crossed that we are correct!

Dana I just booked there my daughters friend that went thru bootcamp last year her family stayed there and also a local mom I met is stayin there next month for her son's grad

Dana - that's great news about the shuttle from our hotel! That sure seems like a better way to go than driving. Oh, and plan away girl! I'm all about advanced planning! Your husband is lucky to have you! :)

I really can't believe they have only been gone 2 weeks! Doesn't it seem like FOREVER?! I'm so anxious to get the letter with his few lines.... just to hear he's ok will be a big thing for me.

Took 3 calls to the recruiter but finally got a ship and division that makes sense. SHIP 12 DIVISION 343.

Victoria I feel bad that you are getting the run around. I first was given a totally inaccurate ship and division with a Sept graduation date. Don't know why some give up the info more easily than others. Hang in there. I haven't received a letter or call yet either. I know its hard to wait.

Man oh man im ready to run out and have a shirt made....and BTW I joined the 10-29 group cause I thought the 10-15 was just way to early and Ill tell ya I so like the looks of the ticker on top of this on then on the other one that says 59 days....I told my daughter I was going to become a Navy mom brat....and follow her everywhere....just like the kids of military men and women have done...she just laughed and said yep that's my mom

No I haven't decided yet because I am really following everyone elses lead. I get a little info overload and I'm afraid I'm not contrubuting as much as I'm taking from the group. I'll probably stay where the biggest party is ....HAAA. Seriously, have to look at the discussion with hubby tonight and start to get on the ball like the rest of you. My memory is bad....Did everyone else in that divsion already receive letters? If so, when?
