I'm in Texas and we have had some pretty crappy weather the last couple of days....hopeing that the airlines haven't had any trouble transporting mail!!!

I got a letter this morning from my baby! I've felt so much better now! So proud! I'm living on cloud nine! I hope everyone of you ladies gets a letter today!!! 35 days & counting!! :)

Aww.. Happy Birthday Ashley! I hope you get a letter too! All the ladies! He told me he got to send two because of the holiday. His letters were positive and he got a few of my letters too. He told me he felt so much better after reading what i wrote him. He was hoping I felt relieved after reading his...boy did I feel great! I kept crying trying to read them to my father inlaw. I never knew what it was like to feel no communication with him and how down you can feel...than right when you start to read just a few lines.. its an amazing feeling! It felt like he was there with me again. :) I can't wait until PIR! 8D

Chris, did I miss you message on how your husband sounded when you talked to him? I'm just wondering if he sounded well and like things were going fine for him?

When you write you SR, ask them what day it is for them. ie 3-1, which would be week 3 day 1. Once you know that, it will help you figure out where they are in BC and what is coming up for them, like gas chamber.

Trishar - so that is how they count. I think, according to my clock, my son is at week 4, day 1 (4-1). However, I guess that could change depending on how well they progress? How does that work anyway? Does the whole division get held back or is it by recruit, if necessary? Have you heard of divisions getting held back?

I'm so happy for everyone that's getting letters! Trying to keep my anticipation and hope in check until I get home and check my mail. Fingers crossed!

Lol, oh its okay! Yes, i hope all who havnt gotten word from their loved ones receive letters today or tomorrow! I was very lucky to get a phone call last monday and this past monday bc they needed me to fax paperwork they had lost. So im not in as big as a rush bc i did get to hear my hubby's voice already! (lucky they lost paperwork. lol) But He sounded okay, the connection wasnt very good so it was hard to hear him most of the time. He said he had been busy studying for two test they had this week and he said it sucked but he know it would be over soon. Im sure once he gets letters and phone calls it will help, he worries about me way too much so im sure thats not helping! I try to send possitive feed back like im totally fine so he doesnt worry and can focus on himself and study!!!! The first monday i talked to him (aug 30th.. he left monday aug 23rd) he sounded alittle down/bored! But this monday (sept. 6) he sounded alot better! Not as down.. He sounded very busy!!!!! But each phone call was about 2 mins. so i didnt get much out of him between the short call and bad connection!!

That must be so hard having you husband leave for 9 weeks. Are you planning on moving to where he is for A school? How does that work when you are married? Do you get to move and be together while they attend school? I have a nephew who is in the Marines who is in Afganistan right now....I worry about him too....he is in bad place. I also worry about his wife because she goes long periods being alone. It helped that she was going to school though, it kept her mind off of him.

YEAH! Got 3 letters today! My daughter is doing great. She has been moved to Ship 2 from Ship 6 but still in Diviision 948. She didn't say why, but it was wonderful to hear from her.

Nathan's Mom - I don't know about the ribbons... I think Dana was sort of heading that up so when she gets back we can check with her. As far as the M&G, I reserved a room at Anastasia's (it's right by Wal-Mart apparently) at 7 on the 14th (Thurs. nite). If you could send a message to my inbox with how many are in your party that would be great! They just want a loose head count so they can staff accordingly.

Since his Aschool for AECF is soo long i will be able to move up there (schooling has to be more than 20wks to move spouses) Most likely live off base somewhere and he'll get to live with me! But I dont know how long after his PIR it will take though for the navy to processes everything and let me move up there! Hopefully before the hoildays! We've been together 5 years (married almost one) and its really hard not to have him around.. He's been my bestfriend since age 15. But i am very proud of him and i know how excited he was about this whole thing bc he wants to be a good provider! It just takes some getting used to. It helps having you ladies... somehow makes me feel that much closer to him! :)

As far as how far along they are, remember, processing days DON"T count towards their time. My son was at BC for 9 weeks and 3 days total, due to the 4th of july in the middle of processing days.

Yes, SR's can be held back. From what I gather, doesn't happen often but can happen. Most often for illnesses or injuries. Can be held back for failing PST's but remember, the RDC's don't want that to happen, so they will work with them to get them to where they need to be. I have NOT heard of a whole division being set back. The final test is Battlestations, and some will not pass it the first time through and will retake it before PIR.

A tradition is to light a blue candle when battlestations start, and keep burning until its over. They usually start at 8PM Great lakes time, getting instruations, etc and officially start around 10PM. They should be complete by 9AM the next morning. Everyone wants the "sailor calls" right away BUT, they get instrustions afterwards, clean up, have pizza, and we found that the calls start around 4PM Great lakes time.

Yay Chris' Girl! You got a letter!! Sorry he's sad, but it's good he's determined! It's also great news to hear that he's getting your letters! Sometimes I wonder if ours are all just going into a big hole somewhere!

Just checked US Navy Recruit Training Commands Facebook page and the phone of the week was of div 329. Man i was hoping for 344 :) maybe next week!

by the way those who would like to know what their loved ones are doing in BC there are some videos on youtube that explain the whole processes of BC helps u get some idea of what they are doing and what it looks like.. there is one on there from NAvy for moms too thats pretty good!

Welp no letter for me today! :( I guess I'll just sit in the corner and cry....It's so hard going from talking to her everyday to absolutely nothing....I wrote her a letter yesterday that was all in text mode...hopeing it brings a smile to her face...and the tear stains aren't visible.....Congrats to everyone though that did get a letter ..it's just a rough week

I live in vermont and a couple of this other girls with loved ones in divison 347 got letters !!! hopefully tomorrow!!!!!

Dillons mom...thank you for sharing! I think I will send some blank note cards in his mail. I don't like hearing that the first day was horrible and what the shot did......I'm so glad to hear he has made a friend! My son is DIV 344......God bless you....my prayers are with these recruits. I'm feeling a little tearful right now......STAY STRONG!!

Whooo Hooo! I got 2 letter from my son today! He sounds so good. He said training isn't going bad for him at all. He was worried about the swimming test since he really can't swim but he passed. He said he still gets nervous sometimes and screws up the directions but he managed to get through. He really touched me to , yes I was crying my eyes out, when he said that when things get tough he thinks of me and how he wants to make me proud of him and I'm his role model and the best Mom. Okay, wouldn't that make you cry! He said that they can't write until they are designated. He said the food was good and he met a ton of "cool" people. Life is good!!! Hugs to all and I'm so happy so many others received their letters too. I'm sure more will be on the way! Hang in there!
