21 days!!!!!! 3 weeks!!!!

Today is a good day. I just got a letter from my son. It is also a bad day because he wonders why i have not written him. He has not got my letters. OMG I write everyday. I am crying so much thinking about him being there and not getting my letters. He is depressed cause his g/f has not written him and now he is not hearing from his mom. BAWLING MY EYES OUT.

He did say things were getting easier and he was getting his wisdom teeth pulled on the 20th and he was scared.
He said he forgot what we look like and seriously needs to get out of there. He is hanging in there and the letters make it easier and he feels loved. He said this is such a mental strain. But physically not so tough on him.
I miss him and I really hope he gets his letters soon. Poor baby

Thanks Rebecca. So sorry to hear your son is not getting your letters... I wonder what the problem is? Sending giant HUGS to you today. Hang in there. We're in the home stretch.

Rebecca I am so sorry!!! I can't imagine how sad you are knowing that your son has not been receiving your letters. I pray that he gets them very, very soon. . My heart is so heavy for you and your son right now. I know how those letters keep them going. Stay strong....he knows how much you love him. Hopefully he will get that HUGE stack of letters anytime now. BIG HUGS to you sweetie.

Rebecca - :( Hugs, girl! I'm so sorry! But hey... his wisdom teeth ordeal should be over with and he's on the mend now! That's cool!

I got 2 letters today and my recruit said he thinks Battle Stations is on the 8th or 9th. He said he'd update me when he finds out more info. He's sick: had a cold & sore throat, and now may have Pink Eye and was on limited duty for a week because he hurt his ankle. He said that was awful because he couldn't work out... hopefully he's on the mend by now.

He sounds very positive though and I think he's learning a lot. I get the feeling he's happy with his decision and excited to be a Sailor in the world's greatest Navy! :)

Oh Pink...I just read about your mom.....I am sooo sorry she won't make PIR. We will be lifting her up in prayer. I swear the devil is busy trying to steal everyones joy.
Don't let it happen!!! Stay in prayer and stay strong everyone! We are almost there..

My boyfriend has his wisdom teeth pulled a couple weeks ago. He said that he didn't do anything for a day, then had light duty so it wasn't too bad for him. They give you meds and you sleep he said.

I can't wait till PIR, classes are going by soo fast so far, well today was slow. But I hope to get more letters today. My bf is going to find a way to write me everynight he says. He can't continue and stay strong unless he does. His A school is only a month long so he isn't shipping out until the weekend is over! IM SOO HAPPY! I hope I get letters today even though I got some yesterday. I love him soo much

I wanted to start a list... but then couldn't remember who said that! It's tough to get old! ;)

I am sending his letters to the same address I have since he got there. He used to get them. He told me that he loved getting them. Poor thing must think I forgot about him. He will get them soon. And he will get a bunch...LOL

Oh ok. I was thinking he hadn't got any of them. That's weird. I sure hope my boyfriend has gotten mine!

I can't wait to go home and check for my Thursday letter! Why do Thursday's always go so SLOW?!

I got two letters from 9-16 and 9-19. He says it sucks but its gettin better. Their workouts are longer and harder but feel good. He is really good at watch so now he was assigned watch mon-fri 10-midnight. He said its cool they trust me and want me to have that responsiblity but it sucks loosing two hours of sleep. he said he loves the food its bad*** lol THen he goes on about random stuff and a school. lol But he was told by a classifier that he'll have christmas vacation in A school at GL.

OH AND HE SAID HE THINKS THEY ARE GUNNA BE ABLE TO START WRITING MORE!

Just joined this group today. Have been catching up on the posts and it sounds like we sure are experiencing a lot of similarities. I too am hoping we have a letter today. Our daughter's second letter was so different from the first. Even her hand writing has changed. She had made squad leader in her second week and as of the last letter she still held the position. I can imagine going back and reading her letters a year from now. Especially the comments about there being "no stalls to be found around here, no shower stalls, no bathroom stalls." I'm curious as to travel plans. We plan to leave our home state of Massachusetts on Thursday but no idea how long we stay. I imagine she will let us know. This site has been a lot of help. Glad to be a part of it.

Dana - I hope that means 344 can write more often too! :) Although I do feel pretty blessed to get as much writing out of my son as I have - maybe I shouldn't push my luck! :)

Do Sailors get Christmas off if they are at A school? My fiance is going to Groton,CT for A school so i was just wondering if they get a little mini vacation for christmas?

iluvmysailor377-I'm not sure exactly how it works. I think they do get some days off, but my bf said they are now making liberty pretty scarce at A school because so many people are messing up and not passing. Atleast thats what he said about San Diego. I don't know about CT. I know mine was going to try and get leave for either Thanksgiving or Christmas. I hope he does! I don't think I can wait til mid January when he's done!!!

misty, I hope they get to go home for Christmas! My son was so counting on that. He would be crushed if he couldn't spend the holidays with family. When my other son was in the Army, they got 2 weeks for the Christmas holidays and he was able to come home. I don't care. I'll fly to GL if I have to, to spend the holidays with my son (LOL)!

Timsmom - I usually write one letter or one card a day except on weekends. I've been busy on the weekends and haven't had a chance to write. My son said the person who hands out mail asked him who was sending all the letters!

I write every day and mail a letter every day. Sometimes there are 2 letters if hubby writes his own, too.

timsmom - I think they do stuff together. Like they'll have Battle Stations at the same time I think.

Oh good, because I write almost everyday too.

So do we have a tentative date on BS as 10/7, 10/8...?

For Div 343 and maybe 344 - we are thinking 10/7, 10/8 or 10/9 for Battle Stations...LOL...how's that? ;)

@winniesam-I know! He said something orginally about 2 weeks for Christmas, but hasn't mentioned much about it again. However, I haven't received my new letters for the week yet. So I'm sure it will say for sure in them. I can't wait to see him...I will ALSO fly out to San Diego if I have to! I'm sure he wants to spend holidays with his family as well.

yes I am very. Im getting my car fixed as well while i am gone. no i made my dad believe that im with my friends all weekend.

Dudesgirl! Are you saying your parents don't know you are going to Great Lakes? Do they know your recruit?

my mom knows. and my mom knows my recruit for 3 years!
