Also one letter was from thurs. he made it sound like it was a GREAT day bc he got to write bc they didnt get in trouble today. SO sounds like 344 is gettin in trouble alot. lets pray they come together!!!
Missy, what is going on with 344 that would get them in trouble? Does he mention what is going on? That may explain why I have not been getting letters.
Ya know... when I was in boot camp... I spent a lot of time studying because I was a nervous wreck and didn't want to fail... so I wrote home very little. That was until my grandma got worried and called the Commanding Officer and told him that she was worried about me... then my RDC called me into the office and told me to write home! ;)
LOL... so it could be that if you don't get mail it's because your recruit is busy. No news is actually good news because if something "bad" happens... you'll get a call. But as a mom... I understand... I want to hear from my recruit, too! ;)
I have no idea. He said wedn. night they IT'ed after their showers so they had to sleep sweaty and it sucked bc it was hot and uncomfortable. He didnt say what happened. He doesnt give details very well. lol And a few other wives have gotten letters saying they've gotten in trouble too, it seems like ppl not listening.
I dont know if it is bc they have hard RDC or they just wont listen and come together as a DIV. i really dont know. He just makes it sound like if they dont get into trouble its been a good day.
Im trying to stay possitive and think maybe their RDC's see alot in this group of guys and is just pushing them extra hard to make them the best they can be!!!!
My BF told me in his letter today that 344 gets to write on tues and thurs now too!
other than that he said he is leaving for SC on tuesday after PIR and that this week they have a LOT of testing and inspections.
As far as xmas break....he has been told he gets from like the 17th to the first day or two of january. I have read it a few times as well (its funny how we all research so much that we never remember exactly WHERE we read anything!)
Got a letter today from our daughter. She is Ship 12 Div 345. I don't see anyone on here with the same. But she is doing well. Got fitted for her uniforms, has a cold, working her butt off and studying. She has passed all her tests so far. She did say that she is so not taking for granted anything. She appreciates letters, shampoo, the teeny things in life. And she said she has never prayed so much in her life.
Tammy - my daughter is ship 12 div 345 also. We got a letter today and she sounded so much better than she did in the first 2. She doesn't give alot of detail about whats going on, but I can tell she is trying her best.
To those of you moms who have daughter recruits... I just wanted to say be extra proud of your girls! As a former Navy girl... I never felt that the RDC's went easy on us or anything. We didn't get any extra sympathy for being female. It was tough! But I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life! :)
Yes, from how Amy sounds that is all they are doing. Is doing their very best. She sent me a letter with her more mental feelings and daughterly stuff. She sent her a Dad a letter in the same envelope with all the info on her work outs how she is running through the shin pain she has. Oye. Doing good though.
Ok here's my BLAH news.....got 2 letters today...one was quiet old...no idea where it has been....the one dated the 19th she sounded good...she said she now had a job was PO of the bathrooms and having to make sure they were clean guess she has ppl that are assigned....she said Tues she was having a root canal done but it would be fine...several things this week PFA weapons inspection and personal inspections...she said BS would be either 6-3 day or 6-5 day if that helps anyone...my calendar is all marked up with different numbers trying to keep up with what day im on....anyways here's the crappy part.....She called today while I was at work...I left my phone here for some personal calls that needed taken care of while my fiance' was here...she called and said she didnt pass the PFA and she only has 1 more shot to do it or she will be set back for 2 weeks....I'm assuming it is the sit-ups that is the culprit since she has mentioned before they suck! I have rationalized that maybe it's meds from the root canal...she is such a strong young lady and I know she can do it...so here's what I need....I need ya'll to PRAY she will pass this next one whenever that is because if not then I'm off making friends LATE in another group for 10-29...sp PRAY PRAY PRAY>!!!! Thank You! DIV 346 Dana for your BS schedule
Tracye- Hugs to you!! I'm praying for Desiree!!! She'll pass... I just know it. Sometimes the added incentive of not being set back can work wonders on just pushing through to your limits... she can do it!!! But it's not the end of the world if she needs some more time. It'll be ok!!!
hi everyone, i got a letter from my husband saying he doesn't qualify for him AM job anymore since he found out that he wears glasses, im guessing his sight is really bad now to have the job. he's hoping there will be a opening for an IT job since his degree is IT which is what he really wanted but as of now he is a undesignated seaman. i dont really know what it is so im trying to find information about it,so if you have any information for me, i'd love to hear it, but he did say that he will be staying after PIR in great lakes for 2 weeks and he might get 2 weeks off and then he gets his first duty station. thats all i know for now. anyone know if that means he still has to return to his ship every night before 9pm on friday and sat and 8 on sundays?
Hi Stevie! She passed that's what matters. Having extra study time can be a good thing. They want everyone to succeed!
I don't think my sons Div has won any flags yet. Flags are really neat... but are only cool in boot camp. Just because her division doesn't win any flags doesn't matter. Besides... especially with performing divisions... they are REALLY busy because they have extra responsibilities. Be very proud of what she has accomplished so far! It's bee a LOT of work and she's made it a long way! :)
Melohdee - my son is going to be an IT. Here's a link to some info. IT JOB LINK
As long as he's connected to RTC (Boot camp) I think he'll have the curfew. A 2 week Liberty (Vacation) is usually given after A School and before the Sailor reports to his first duty station. So since your guy isn't going to an A School... he'll likely get his vacation after he's processed out of RTC. But they may use that time in RTC to try to get him into a rate (job) so he may end up with an A School after all... it's just a waiting game.
I also have heard from Nikki and she is not doing well with the physical either. Thats why I have not received the form letter :( Please every one pray for the 346 so they can pass this stuff!!! Our kids are all working so hard... They are all in my prayers!
Hi everyone. I'm moving here from the 10/8 group. Unfortunately my daughter got sent back a week, so gotta wait one more week to see her and hug her. On a better note, I'll be able to meet some of you that I've been chatting with since the boot camp threads. Anyways, hope to get to know all of you a bit better before PIR.
Hi Tiffany! I'm sorry your daughter got held back, but am glad you are with us now! We are having a M&G for this group at Anastasia's on Thursday night at 7 if you'd like to join us. We are all so excited to actually meet and HUG each other in person!
I got a letter from my son last night and this one is more down than the others have been. He's REALLY ready for it to be over. I don't get a lot of details from him so I just hope and pray he is doing what he needs to do to get through it.
Thoughts and prayers to everyone and their recruits today and every day.
I know. I was nervus to buy the plane tickets but I did. I can't wait to hear the "Im a sailro call" do we know when that will be for 343? Im worried about my bf, he is pretty sick but he is still going through day to day. Im really worried about him. Each letter there is alwasy something wrong. I don't like hearing bad things. I just cant wait till these 20 days are over. My weeks are going by soo much faster now!!!
Thanks all! I have never been on such pins and needles before! I think we will drive up with all the uncertainty I dont want to waste money on plane tickets!
I'm nervous and wound up too! It's so hard to concentrate on work!! We are going on vacation tomorrow for a week, so I probably will miss a lot on this site. Just know you all will be in my thoughts!
Pink - vacation is good. That means a whole week will go by FAST! :)
Ohio - we are just starting to get better info about BS21. Our div 343 guys have been saying it could be the 7th, 8th, or 9th... but that's all we've heard so far. We are hoping to get more info from other Divs so we can compare and figure it out.
I think this is day 4-3 for Div 343.
lindalav - we are driving from Minneosta. I'm glad I have that option because I'd be even more of a wreck if I was flying in. ;)
I will be driving from Florida but would rather do that than waste money and change tickets- with this economy gotta watch the spending... Nikki said was doing PFA monday and thursday (20th and 24th) so I am eagerly awaiting a call or letter if she passed or failed - hope I get the form letter and that will boost my spirits. I thought boot camp was 8 weeks? are they in an accelerated program?
