PIR 10/15/10

I got a real letter from my son yesterday! Whoever said they love Thursdays because it is letter day, they were right. He only had three minutes to write, so the letter did not tell me anything as to how he is doing! Just I love you and miss you all. I'm not sure if I should be concerned or not...how do I know if everything is alright? He did make a happy face on his letter.

My son has been there since 8/18... but his division is a "push" division so they have had to cram a lot in in a shorter time. I know they had several days where they were on hold (in addition to processing days) but I don't know why. I think it's just how they schedule all the divisions to get everything done.

I think the Happy Face is a clue! If he was doing awful... he'd have put a sad face! :) YAY for happy faces!!! :)

Yes, my son has been there since 8/18...so according to my schedule the days if 5-2 (laugh)...I know you said 4-3. If 343 and 344 are brother divisions, I wonder if that makes them both "push" division. Either way, we are getting closer to PIR!

LOL! I can't figure out the days to save my life! My recruits last letter on 9/19 said it was day 3-3, I think still reflecting Friday's day because Saturday & Sunday don't count. He has often said that he can't keep up with what day it is either though... so who knows!! ;) Yes, wither way PIR is in coming up sooner! Yippeee! :)

yea i am always confused about the days too...thought she was in hell week last week but it was the week before for them...so can't always go off the posted schedules i guess haha. im just ready for a new letter this week and a phone call would be nice too lol. cant wait to hug her!

My son has been there since 8/18 as well. I am on pins and needles too, hoping he and everyone else is doing well.

Pink: I don't know what it is but I felt my son's last letter was a little blah. He said he is missing home more and more so I think that it's getting to them as well. The best we can do is be supportive to them and support each other here which is what we do. I am so thankful for all of you!

DanaMN: I found out that I can send my son his contacts in the bubble lined envelope. He has to open it up in front of the official ( I don't know what their title is) probably for security reasons which is logical and then he can have the contents. So if anyone else has this question, at least we have the answer

Dana - my daughter arrived on 8/23, I noticed your son arrived on 8/18 and you said he was a push division. Does that mean she is in a push division also?

so if they are writing more do we get letters more often, or does their mail only go out on sundays.. so just more letters on thursday? or ALL week? anyone know.

Missy-As far as I know, they only pick up their mail on Sundays so it goes out on Monday/Tuesday. They get mail everyday, but theirs only goes on Sunday.

You know, my bf went to Great Lakes on 8-24. And he's graduating in 7 weeks too. I guess that means he is a push division?

All I know is that my recruit told me that he was in a "push" division (343). He got there on 8/18... but they had 4 P -days and then had several "hold" days but he didn't really say why... he was having trouble keeping track of what day they were on because of it. I would have thought that since he was there nearly a week before the last divisions in his Training Group that they'd be on track... but I guess not. No big deal... Graduation is 10/15 for all of them! : ) YAY! :)

WoooHooo 2 of my questionares back and a letter today.....I'm looking for a mom in North Carolina with a daughter and a mom in New York with a son....I am so EXCITED that my daughter and my Good friend Dana Nathans mom know each other ......and JulieB's daughter and mine are also becoming good friends.....!!!!!

Battlestations is 6-3 or 6-5 for them so whatever day that is...my calendar is all marked up tryin to keep up with the days....the 16th was 3-1

@ Tracye...I'm going to go by your calendar..so if the 16th was 3-1, that would make today, 4-2, right? My son did get there on the 18th; so he must have had several days of hold also.

The days might not be the same for each division because they could have started up on different days...but in the end it doesn't really matter because they all graduate on 10/15.

I'm just trying to figure out the Battle Stations schedule so we can all know when to be waiting for our "I'm a Sailor Calls!" ;)

My son got there on the 18th as well and the 16th was day 3-2.

Which is why I was SO BUMMED (at first) that he got there on the 18th and had almost a week more than some who graduate the same day!

But I now know this was the group we were meant to be with and I'm SO HAPPY to have "met" you all! You all have saved my sanity and made this a whole lot easier for me. I needed you and my recruit needed your loved ones as well! :)

Tracye - I am from North Carolina but my daughter is in division 345.

Tomorrow we will be in the "teens" until PIR. Yahoo. My husband and I are praying for all our recruits. Probably be able to create another ocean with all the tears on 10/15.

Tammy - YAY for the teens..Thanks for the prayers, you know I have been including your daughter in mine. And yes we probably create an ocean, it's a good thing our daughters have passed swim qualifications lol.

Reggie-thank you for your prayers as well and your friendship. We'll all get through this together and stick with it even after PIR. We are definitely meeting up in Chicago!!

I have a question. my bf's mom is leaving saturday and i am staying till sunday. can someone be willing enough to give me a ride to the airport sunday night about 6pm? my plane leaves at 715pm

I have a question.....The Friday that my son was born and I talked to my husband, he gave me a fax number at RTC so that when our son's birth certificate and social security card arrived, I could fax them his information. I faxed it to the number and it went through, but how do I know that they for sure got the fax. Would this be a time where I called the Public Affairs Office? I asked him in a letter to let me know, and I will ask him when he calls again, but we never know when that will be. Anyone have any advice as to what to do??

My hubby called the 30th of aug bc he needed me to fax my social and marriage license that they had lost... A week later i got another call from my hubby bc they didnt get the fax bc i didnt put a cover sheet on it ( ive never faxed so i didnt know. lol) SO I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM HIM TELLING ME TO RESEND IT!! then the next week i got a letter saying he had gotten the info! SO if u dont get a call then he prob got the information and it will be in ur next letter im sure!

I did include a cover sheet because I send faxes all the time at work lol! Thanks for the info. I just didn't know and that is confidental information, you know? It isn't something I just want floating around somewhere!

yeah i know what u mean, i was alittle werid they wanted me to send it again and again but i did.. i sent a cover sheet the first time but they wanted me to write ATTENTION: SHIP 12 DIV 344 on it and chris didnt tell me that the first time so i had to re-do it. BUT I GOT TWO PHONE CALLS.. (really really short) BUT ILL TAKE EM!

Ok good. I put the Ship and Division number on the cover sheet along with his name and everything. They should have got it then! He never told me either, so I just guessed. Men lol! It was very hard when I was in the hospital because he was so supportive with our daughter and I missed that this time around. I guess that is what our moms are for though!

Well Reggie 345 is 346's brother division so who knows....last name ends in a Y .....:)~
