Is the PFA the same as battlestations?

Hello everyone! Less than 3 weeks left! Maybe we'll get a phone call either today or tomorrow? I sure hope so.

PFA stands for Physical Fitness Assessment. So nope, not the same as Battle Stations 21. ;)

Got a letter posted some contents on 346 discussion. they were on Marlin spike on the 22nd and BattleStations scheduled for 10/13 as best I can tell.

got one of those questionaire's back today. How many PFA's do they take?? She said she passed her 2nd, does that mean she has finished with the requirements, sit-ups, pushups, running?? Anyone have the answers?? Also, it was mailed on Wednesday, the 22, so maybe they are letting mail go out other than the one day..

I just got a phone call! Yesssssssss!!!! He sounded a little down in the dumps because he really misses home. In fact, he said they are getting on each others nerves. Their brother division is division 341. 341 and 342 guys bunk together and 341 and 342 girls bunk together. He's passed all his pt tests so far and they had to postpone Test 2 Assesment because the computers were down. He said it's 47 degrees there. Oh I can't wait. I'm in AZ and it's 105. I'm so sick of the heat. I'm originally from the East coast and miss the change of seasons so bring on the cool weather!!! Of course he wants me to send him more football stats. He said that he will have a two week interum between boot camp and A school. A school in GL starts Oct. 29th. They have firestations this week and then the gas chamber. If I remember anything else I'll let you know. I'm soooooo happy!! I knew he'd call this weekend! Love to all.

Hello to all. My step-daughter was placed in division 341 last Saturday after spending one month in the RCU. She was supposed to graduate last weekend but was injured in a training exercise in mid August. Now she will be graduating with 341 on 10/15. We are excited to have a new graduation date. For those of you who have never heard of RCU. It is the Recruit Convalescent Unit. If your recruit is injured or has an extended illness that interrupts their training, they will be removed from their ship and division and reassigned here until they are well. It is a difficult place for a recruit to be and they are often quite upset to have their training interrupted and their graduation date postponed. They need lots of support. When my stepdaughter was injured the moms in her PIR group wanted to write and encourage other recruits that were in RCU with my step daughter, so I asked her to send me some names. Unfortunately, I did not receive them until after PIR 9/17 had completed boot. While I have been able to share some names with those moms, I have quite a few left so I am making a request with my first comment to my new PIR group. If you would be interested in writing to one of these recruits in RCU please message me and I will be happy to send you a name or two and the address. All of the names I have are girls. I have at least 10 left to share.

I was shopping at Target and they have some of their Christmas stuff out including nutcrackers. They have different themed ones. They had a Sailor! Of course he came home with me. I just wanted to pass it along!

jacsparrow - seems that a lot of the recruits are having a tough time right now. It makes me sad... but it's almost over and then that sadness will be replaced by the most amazing pride they've ever felt in their lives! ;)

Morning, all. Saw that a few of you have found electric window candles w/ blue bulbs, I hit Target, Kmart and Bed Bath & Beyond, no candles yet until they put out their Christmas stuff (which will be way too soon, jeez). Any suggestions for places that might have these available now (esp. the blue bulbs, 'cause maybe I can borrow a neighbor's actual candle).

I got the blue bulb at Target. It came in a pack of 4 colors. It was with the Christmas lights. I'd also try the drug stores... they often ave replacement bulbs.

Foaling.....try a party store.....or a Pier One if you have one of those.....

Stevie- You can go online and order them..or just to see them. The one I saw was a Naval Officer. They have the Marine and Army one too.

The nutcracker is about 12" or so. He does have a bit more rank than our sailors right now.

well my dad knows now. he wasn't happy. but I am still going cuz I bought the tickets. Im not worried about money. I get paid begin,. of each month so i can live off of $200 of it and i have plenty in my account. he is just worried about me paying to fix my car.

Went to Target - they only had one of the Navy Nutcrackers out and it was kind of nicked up and had crappy paint job... so I'm going to check another Target this week. Good idea about the US Flag on the sleeve. Maybe I'll try to paint one on there when I get it. :)

Public Displays of Affection

I remember hearing something about no holding hands in the back of my mind so I decided to look into it and found this (see link above). I am absolutely devastated...

I received 2 letters on Friday! Does anyone know what classifications are? My boyfriend said he thinks his division (348) are going to classifications this week. He said then he would know specifics, rather than just general info. He said time is going by fast which is a good thing for him! Was so happy to hear from him!

Misty - The Classifier is the person who assigns their job.

LC girlfriend - Don't be devastated! You'll get to give him a hug and a kiss when you first see him after PIR. Besides... just being near him is going to make you so happy... you' won't be able to feel sad!!

It feels too quiet for Ship 12 and these divisions. No news is good news....
I wonder what this week is like for them....

I got two letters today! He wrote on tuesday and forgot stamps and then wrote on thursday and they both arrived today :) He is happy and confident and I couldn't be more proud! 10/15 should really hurry up!
