I gotta buy me a new car today. My car is about to die to the point it barely starts. so i am not trusting to drive it around. and my dad is treating me like crap, and he is a mechanic and he said if I sell the car that I have he won't fix any other cars that I get. Fine what ever, he never fixes my car right anyways.

@ Dudesgirl...car problems stress me out too! So sorry to hear about all the troubles, I do hope things get better...on the good side, a new car sounds great! Are you going to PIR?

There is no great joy as a parent than to watch you children make good choices on their own! I wonder if the RDC takes pride in watching these young men grow.....

timsmom, yes I am going to PIR, I bought my tix a week ago, and now my car problems. sooo i have to find a car today. I hope there is a good car out there for me to get my life back together, I have found some already. I would rather make payments than pay everything out front and have no money left

Timsmom I would hope that the rdc feels pride over the transition..
I decided that since i was so proud everyone else i knew would be too, so i got bumper stickers for everyone in my family and t shirts for my immediate family.
I get alot of nice shirt comments and it makes me smile :)

Yes, proudmom, I would think so...I just know as a parent, I get a little emotional.....I would imagine there must be some emotions for the RDC also from being so proud!

No... no phone call. Not yet anyway. There's always hope! . I didn't get any mail though. I saw the mail lady come and bolted out there like a crazy woman and all that was there was a credit card offer. NO THANKS! That's NOT what I wanted! ;)

Is she bolting off because she's afraid you might ask where the mail is from your son? LOL!

Yup... It would seem that they are only allowed to mail letters on Sundays... even if they get to write on Tuesdays and Thursdays now. Otherwise I would have gotten more letters by now from last week. So confusing!

i got two letters yesterday from september 21st and another one that he didnt date loll that would be awesome if i get more letters :)

I got letters on Monday of this past week and I usually get them on Thursdays from my husband in 347. I know they send them out other days other than Sunday, but I don't know about the other divisions.

ohhh , ok thats cool ! yeah my boyfreind is in 347 as well so hopefully there will be more :D

gmarie-atleast that was what he told me. I got letters on Monday dated for two different days and that is what he letters said, so look for some more:)

Haha I just read that last post, one was dated for the same day the 21st and the other wasn't dated at all which I thought was odd because he always dates them.

@ Sandy....I hope they have a better week also. I wonder what would have happened if they would have said yes.....It would be great to get a phone call or a letter this week!

Can anyone tell me if the calendar posted on September 15 is the same for all divisions? I am trying to figure out when my daughters battlestations will be but she gave me a different day for graduation than what is on the calendar. Thanks for any assistance

Reggie - Each division could be on a different schedule. What day did she give you? For instance - based on what I know to date, Day 7-3 is October 15th for div 343.

She gave me 7-2 as graduation date

Hhmmm... hopefully our letters this week will ave more info! I think we just have to wait it out.

suwil68-I know what you mean :( It's been 13 days for me, but I only got to speak with my bf for a short 10 min call. Not long before graduation! Although I don't get to go, I know when he gets to A school we will be able to talk more. I'm patiently waiting for something! Letters, calls, anything...

suwil68 - I know... I think we all have you covered here in the sympathy department! Some days are just easier to get through than others. Our recruits have come a long way and so have we! We are getting closer now and it will be such a GREAT day! Just focus on that and keep plugging along!

proudmom: no my parents have basically let me on my own, they dont help me with me anything. My aunt is the main one who is helping me with my car situation. my dad played the guilt trip again this morning. he blames me for everything. and my grandma, my grandma helps me a lot with clothing.

and my mom sits in this huge house doing nothing. she is unemployed

Today is wednesday! That means it's letter day (if our mailman puts it in the right mailbox again). Hopefully matt got the chance to outline his plans for our future like he told me he would :) I already know he wants me to move down to SC when I graduate and go to college there before boot camp~

Wednesday is here and I sure hope letters or phone calls come in too! We are on the downhill ladies!! Yeah! I'm feeling patriotic today and am going to write the words to the Star Spangle Banner in my letter to my son today. I'm so glad to be an American!

Hi everyone! I got my letters this morning! YAY! My hubby said as far as he knows BS is still on 6-4 which is October 10th or 11th. Maybe someone else will get some more info on this. Good luck everyone! I hope evryone gets their letters today or tomorrow! 15 days to go!! :)

Tims mom- He's hanging in there. It's rough but he said he's doing great with his tests and he's getting a promotion! He is trying to keep his head up & he's looking forward to PIR even tho we may only get to see eachother for 20mins after PIR. It's really sad & hard but we'll get through! And yes.. I can't wait to lit those candles too!

Kaleena - He's getting a promotion! Congratulations to him! I know, this is hard...great attitude on your part, it is hard but we will get through it!

my car has been fixed for free.. what a great mechanic!!! got it done before my next shift.its nothing really bad , but there are many things wrong with it. I will have to come back in later of next month to get it fixed. something with axels was the big thing that I caught and leaking

I got a letter today... much less positive than all the others so I think he's finally hit the breaking point. He's still sick, viral infection, and was put on SIQ (Sick in Quarters). Now I just hope they start building him back up because he was feeling very discouraged and disheartened.

He did say that last week was in fact Marlinspike, SAMT, and Live Fire. He passed everything and thought shooting the real gun was fun. He said pictures are supposed to be Thursday or Friday and he thinks Battle Stations might be the 7th or 10th now.

I knew there was a reason I needed to burn my candle! ;)

I'm trying not to feel too sad, because I know he's in good hands. It's just hard to know your kid is going through something tough... even though the lessons he learns will be worth it in the long run.
