PIR 10/15/10

Has anyone heard anything about photo packages? My son's recruitor told us that we'd be getting a packet in the mail & I haven't seen anything I don't want to miss out on it.

The recruits order their own photos. There's no package that comes home to the family.

PT is Physical Training and they do that all the time... some times even IT which is Intensive Training.

PFA stands for Physical Fitness Assessment. As far as I know they take two PFAs.

PI stands for Personnel Inspections where the their military appearance is inspected.

DMI stands for Department Material Inspection, an inspection of the division’s racks and gear.

I'm not sure what WT is but maybe he's referring to weapons training??

Another mom told me about this place...it's a forest preserve that is only 5-10 minutes away from base. It is so pretty there and it's $5 for a car to get in. Unless you have a sailor in the car! Then, It's free.

She said it was so nice to walk around and there are places to sit everywhere. They have a garden and trails to walk. She said it was a wonderful place to end their weekend together.

RTC has posted pictures from today's graduation on Facebbok. My daughter Kim is in DIv 948 and performed in the choir at the ceremony. It brought tears to me to see her in the picture. She looks so grown up now!

I'm from Texas and my sons ship 02 Div 948. I won't be able to do the meet and greet on Oct 14 as we will be flying in but Hello All!

I got a call today! 347 did well so they got 30 mins

I got a call from Nikki today and she is on step 2 of 4 in rehab and tuesday the 5th will see the doctor and hope to move to stage 3 - please keep her in your prayers. She sounded good

We just got a call and she sounded wonderful, she is worried about passing her final PFA, and didn't get to live fire because she was on light duty and doing physical therapy. But she has passed all her tests so far and seems to be in good spirits.

My recruit said that BS21 for 347 is on 10/13 as well!!! : )

are all divisions getting out phone calls this week / weekend??

I have not been on here for a few days and I will make sure to never let that happen again because I had a lot of catching up to do :) but now that I am caught up I will tell you what the schedule says (div 344) that my love wrote out for me on aroung 9/26 or so (after many letters of BEGGING to know when battlestations etc is)

9/28 = 4-5...test 2 and 17 min sustained run
9/30 = 5-2...innoculations, haircuts and NEX run (he mentions possible phone calls but not to get my hopes up..which i am glad I didnt because I didnt get one)
10/1 = 5-3 firefighting intro, 20 minute sustained run
10/4 = 5-4 more firefighting
10/5 = 5-5 more firefighting
10/6 = 6-1 fire fighting team training, FEP Personal inspection, FEP damage inspection (he has in parenthesis "EWWW!" by the inspections lol)
10/7 = 6-2 PFA final
10/8 = 6-3 fire fighting applications, academic test 3
10/9 = 6-sat (???) Captains Cup
10/12 = 6/4 FEP Drill Evacuation and BATTLESTATIONS (from 8pm to 8am it looks like...so thats our answer...overnight on Oct 12!)
10/13 = 6-5 After battlestations he has PHONE CALL from 2-3pm (i dont know about that time frame for the call but thats what he put)
10/14 = 7-1 and I cant understand what he put but it basically says they are rehearsing for PIR

I hope this helps everyone! He didnt mention being uncertain about any of this occuring in the order that he lists but I wouldnt say this is set in stone...but it is a starting point and SO helpful for us...for now at least :)

Yeah Dana~Nathan's Mom! So happy you received a phone call. It gets us through a few more days when we hear their voices! It gives them strength and us too!

I volunteer at Church and teach 5th graders so I'll be sure that I have all of them pray for our recruits and Battle Stations 21. The Lord will hear all those little voices I'm sure!!!! Can't wait for next weekend. I'll be in Chicago on Sunday!!

Thanks all fro the prayers and well wishes - when I told Nikki about navy for moms yesterday and all the well wishes and support and the million moms she now has it made her laugh she really enjoyed hearing about all of you and is anticipating getting her mail and I told her to expect some cards from you guys and she laughed- so good to hear her laugh rather than teary - I also told her about battlestations and the candles and she was so touched - she said when she gets back in another division she will make sure I get that info asap. It was the first real coversation I have had with her since she left and I am so proud of her and all our future sailors and how hard working and dedicated they are. she did tell me she failed her 1st pfa running by 14 seconds which she says wont be a problem on the second. the sit ups are her weakness so i told her to do crunches and keep doing them till cant do anymore to build herself up more - since she is in medical not allowed to do when the petty officers are there so she tries to sneak them - she has another girl from her division in medical so she has company if Kays mom is out there thats a shout to you. I am so happy to have found this site and gotten to talk to all of you you all are the best support - Thank you all again and i will be keeping all your guys and gals in my prayers

I didn't get on yesterday to share my phone call but I to got to hear Desiree's wonderful voice!...Her laugh is the best!!....I can't wait to meet her friends and my new friends as well........we are almost there and for those of you that didn't know.....346's Battle Station takes place on the Navy's B-day....and my moms (he he) so that's Super Special for all of us that will have BS on the 13th......Yippee it really doesn't feel like it's a year away any longer....Linda....is Kays mom from Hawaii?

Another question from the Mom who joined late!! What is the deal w/ the candle's? And to Stevie * Ship2. Div948, I just bought the Nutcracker @ Target yesterday!! I couldn't believe it when I saw it!! I have a collection of different nutcracker's that I have out @holiday time, but this one when be on the display year around. For those of you who haven't seen it, I will take a pic. & post it in my photos.

Hi Devin's Mom, the candle must be blue (as in navy blue, but mine is light blue 'cause that's all I could find for now) and we're supposed to burn it while our recruits are doing Battlestations, all night long. Some moms are using the electric candles w/ a blue bulb, I can't find either at this point, still looking. We'll keep vigil somehow, electric or not.

Foaling Lady...if you have a Hobby Lobby they have in their Christmas decorations the single candles that are battery or electric and the replacement bulbs that has a blue one in it....hope that helps...if not Target has that out as well....

I am not sure where kay is from but she was in the bunk next to nikki in 346 also- I will be having a blue candle lit so far the 13th what other days do we need?

WOW LC girlfriend that is what I call a detailed summary…. And it seems that Wednesday the 13th is the official BS21 and confirmed by PollyAnna post. BS is the final 12-hour -overnight test- I am already getting nervous….. But I am confident that on God’s Will and with all our prayers ALL OUR SAILORS will be shining like starts… Amen!

I think like 2 div. Do bs21 a night and it goes in numerical order!!

Hi, all, just lurking here, looking forward to leaving to my recruit's PIR on 10/8. Glad to hear some of you have gotten phone calls, we never got one since 4 weeks ago, oh well, maybe after BS21 we will (never heard for sure but I think his is tomorrow night). Even if I don't get a call I keep telling myself, at least I'll see him on Friday! :-)

Congrats PKs mom! I will keep your son in my prayers! I am going to target here in Florida wednesday so I hope I can find that nutcracker - My husband thinks I am officially nuts with all this, I am obsessed! I havent been in target in 10 years and now I am going just for that nutcracker LOL

Missy[ChrisWife, if they do battle stations 2 divisions at a time, then do you think Div. 341 and 342 will come together for battle stations. Then 343 & 344 and so on?

suwil68 that's so awesome! It's such a good feeling when we know that they are doing okay! So happy for you. I have to go to Target to get an electric candle too. I don't think the hotel would take to kindly to me burning a real candle !LOL!

Dudesgirl... my son had mentioned he thought BattleStatetions would be on the 7th. I hope so...that would mean we could get "I'm a Sailor" calls on FRIDAY! I hope that happens!

I remember my son telling me on his call home that his division (948) was suppose to have Battlestaion on the Monday before graduation, but due to the holiday it would be on Tuesday. I haven't been able to get him to confirm that in any of his letters. I ask him the date in every letter that I mail. He doesn't even mention it at all in his letters. LOL I hope someone is able to find out soon.

So I guess my son may be the first to go? He's division 342 and the brother division is 341.Oh boy!
